It started out so promising, I actually liked the characters and so fun to see characters from the previous movies. But god can't imagine any real fans being happy with this movie? Very obvious who the killer is which is fine. That how it usually is. But the ending, common? Shockingly bad! So unnecessary and stupid, made no sense and they spent no time explaining why?
Honestly the movie was okay until the last part of the movie, I would have wanted longer death scenes, with more chase, more drama and excitement but it kinda felt rushed unlike in the other movies. This could have been such a good movie, just disappointed.

The first 2 minutes are as good as it gets - the inner monologue of a 25 point IQ who chose UofMich - enough said - she should be offed just for that. Terrible lighting, terrible acting, script sucks - you were hoping they all died - but it took 31 minutes for the first dead body. You couldn't tell any of the characters apart and the location/set up was so ridiculous. Seriously - THIS is your idea of a reboot of a great movie?
It's nice to see a sequel years later of one of my favorite movies ever, but is it really necessary?
It tries so hard to mimick everything from the original that it gets old REALLY quick.
Unlike sequels to other older movies like Star Wars, Halloween or even Hocus Pocus that the new characters are so boring that you just don't care what happens to them, the new ones are OK. Not good, just ok. Except Danica, she's horrible. And I liked that they weren't just copies of the original cast, they FEEL like a new group.
The killer reveal was dumb and the last scene is just another "yeah girl power" moment that no one asked for.
Honestly, I like going out yesterday to watch it, but I won't be seeing this one again. The original I've seen about 20 times and it never gets old.

I was so excited for this movie and I wanted to love it, but I dunno. I struggled to warm to any of the characters. As for the death scenes I found them very quick, there was no chase, no adrenaline, just seemed all very quick. I enjoyed trying to work out who the killer was, who was behind it and why, but didbt like the ending at all! I was rather disappointed and gobsmacked!
Had a great nod to the original 4 characters from The first film, loved seeing Freddie and Jennifer on the big screen again.
As I said mixed feelings - how do I deal with the ending and the reveal?
I also loved that this was filmed in Australia!

I grew up watching the originals. Have been a huge fan ever since... seen them more times than I can count. Wtf were they thinking with this one..... without a doubt one of the most disappointing & unnecessary reboots I have ever seen.
I am going to try to pretend this one never happened... It was that bad.
Bad casting bad story bad pace bad acting. No character development. Too many plot holes. Nothing to get you "hooked"... if you gotta see for yourself, go for it. Recommend waiting til it comes out on digital if anything.
The music score was kinda dope, as well as a few scenes and the nostalgia was there with a few surprises but overall I left really upset and disappointed. And the twist at the end made me SO angry.
They should have left this one alone. I honestly liked the trailer and idea they had for it more than the actual movie. There are fans of the originals 30 years in the making and they basically just spit in our faces.

- WissenswertesWhen Jennifer Love Hewitt learned a new "I Know What You Did Last Summer" movie was in the works, her first reaction was "immediate fear and panic that I might have to be in it." before filming began, Hewitt was a nervous wreck. "Coming back at 46 is really daunting in Hollywood, for lots of reasons," she says. "You don't want people to be like, 'Oh, she looks different,' or 'She's aged.' You don't want any of that." But Hewitt also felt "deeply grateful that I was not forgotten" when she returned to the role for the first time in almost 30 years. The actress's nerves were eased, and she "fully started crying" when the extras in her first scene welcomed her back with a round of applause. "It meant so much to me," she says. "I felt like, 'Oh, I'm supported, and I should be here.' "
