When "American Dad!" first aired on Fox, "Family Guy" comparisons were inevitable, especially since both shows were created by Seth MacFarlane. "Family Guy" had been through the wringer, undergoing multiple cancellations, only to come back out on top. "American Dad!" felt like a test to see if MacFarlane could get lightning to strike twice with a different show that nonetheless had many of the same qualities as "Family Guy." That includes talking animals, and the early seasons had a tendency to lean into cutaway jokes that "Family Guy" had become synonymous with.
Over the years, "American Dad!" moved to TBS and then back over to Fox, changing its style of humor along the way. The show's less about making fun of current events and more about seeing just how depraved the Smith family can become with a significant decrease in random cutaways. And for those who have followed "American Dad!

As we count down the weeks until GhostsSeason 5 premieres on CBS, some of the cast of the hit sitcom took to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to give us our first taste of what to expect from the new season. Following a panel full of exciting announcements, including the return of Trevor’s daughter Abby (Gideon Adlon), a new Halloween episode, and more of Bela (Punam Patel) helping around Woodstone, Asher Grodman, Danielle Pinnock, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Devan Chandler Long stopped by the Collider studio for a delightful chat with Perri Nemiroff.
During their wide-ranging conversation, Nemiroff made sure to ask Grodman about Trevor’s ever-evolving relationship with Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), inquiring whether they’re stronger as “power friends” or as a “power couple.” To Grodman, whatever label they decide to give their complex and captivating relationship comes secondary to the tension and connection between Trevor and Hetty. ScreenRant's Rachel Foertsch is on hand at the Ghosts panel at San Diego Comic-Con and reveals that a story in the upcoming season could see a new relationship between one of the human characters and one of the ghost characters in the series. The comedy already features complicated dynamics between its ghost and human characters who share a home.
According to showrunner Joe Wiseman, Ghosts season 5 will see Bela (Punam Patel) taking on a larger role at the restaurant in the series. Bela has already recurred throughout the show thanks to her connection to her brother Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and the ghost Trevor (Asher Grodman).
Now, she will take on an even bigger role at Jay's restaurant and start her own event business. With that larger role in Ghosts season 5 comes "an interesting relationship with a ghost who's not Trevor" for Bela.

If you're obsessed with the afterlife of Ghosts, then prepare for a lifetime of more laughs with Joe Port and Joe Wiseman's new comedy series. The co-creators and executive producers of the hit CBS series Ghosts are developing another show, and CBS has ordered a pilot for it. Titled Eternally Yours, it is also set in a supernatural world, but this time, it features the undead rather than the just dead. Eternally Yours tells the story of two vampires who have been married for 500 years. However, their love is tested when their daughter begins dating a human. The show does not have a premiere date yet, and no cast has been announced. Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang serve as executive producers on the project.

Ghosts‘ Season 4 finale is in sight and CBS is already revealing details about the pivotal installment, “The Devil Went Down to Woodstone,” which will welcome back three familiar faces: Mary Holland‘s Puritan spirit Patience, Punam Patel as Jay’s (Utkarsh Ambudkar) sister Bela, and Matt Walsh‘s devilish Elias Woodstone. But what do these guest star returns mean for the season’s ending? Per the installment’s logline, the episode will revolve around Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay hosting a big party for the launch of Sam and Isaac’s (Brandon Scott Jones) vampire book. While we have yet to see the episodes in between the forthcoming seventeenth installment, “His Girl Shiki,” and the finale (Episode 22), there are a few lingering questions that will likely be addressed in this last chapter for Season 4. "I've Been Angling for That for a Long Time": Rose McIver Reveals Her Dream Guest Stars for 'Ghosts'
Ghostshas a fairly expansive cast with ten main players in the weekly ensemble and a growing Rolodex of regular guest stars that features comedy icons like Punam Patel as Jay's (Utkarsh Ambudkar) sister Bela, Caroline Aaron as Pete's (Richie Moriarty) ex-wife Carol, and Tristan D. Lalla as everyone's favorite contractor/Hudson Valley player Mark. We've been seeing more and more of these friendly faces in Season 4, so when I sat down with series star Rose McIverto discuss her directorial debut on the series, I had to know if she had anyone in mind as a dream guest star for Ghosts. Offering up my own answer, I suggested the legendary Catherine O'Hara(Schitt's Creek) as a Gilded Age-era Farnsby, to which McIver happily agreed, saying, "Oh, that's brilliant! You should work in casting. That's so good. She'd be brilliant in that. Now that you say that, she's definitely a choice."...

From Jay's (Utkarsh Ambudkar) fun-loving sister Bela (Punam Patel) to crass but loveable basement ghost Nancy (Betsy Sodaro), Ghosts has a handful of recurring characters that can practically guarantee a home run episode. One such character is Hetty's (Rebecca Wisocky) evil ex-husband Elias (Matt Walsh), another Gilded Age ghost who has quite literally been to Hell and back. Introduced in Season 1's "The Vault," Elias is as much a menace at Woodstone in his death as he was in life. With his ghost power allowing him to make living characters horny, there's no shortage of chaos to be had when Elias shows up. In Season 2, he returns in an attempt to get Hetty to free him from Hell by trying to take Pete back with him unless she forgives him for his many, many misdeeds.

But before Sam has a chance to try and win her in-laws over, a task she’s been working on for years, a broken water heater leaves Jay and Sam both possessed with spirits from the mansion as Pete (Richie Moriarty) and Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) invade their bodies. Spoilers ahead for Ghosts season 4, episode 2, "Sam's Dad."
Sam's Dad (Dean Norris) debuts in Ghosts season 4, episode 2, and the installment finally explains Frank's past and future in his daughter's life. The introduction of Sam's dad is an exciting development for the writer and the Ghosts' Woodstone B&b owner, who doesn't have much community besides the house full of ghosts she lives with. Sam's mom, Sheryl (Rachael Harris), debuted in Ghosts season 1, episode 11, "Sam's Mom." However, she was already dead. While Sam (Rose McIver) was able to reconcile with her mom as a ghost, the experience allowed Sheryl to move on, truncating more mother/daughter time.
While it was neat to see Sams mom, introducing her dad is even better. Sams dad is still alive, so Sam can build a familial relationship that includes her husband, Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who doesnt share her gift to see the dead. The Ghosts...

Ghosts season 4 will introduce Jay's parents, but the new update features a caveat to their arrival. CBS' rising comedy based on the UK show of the same name is set to return with a full season after its shortened cycle due to the dual Hollywood strikes of 2023. With that, there are so many plots set to come to fruition, including several that have been previously set up. That includes an additional focus on Utkarsh Ambudkar's Jay Arondekar, the devoted and hilarious husband of Rose McIver's Sam.
In a new report from EW, it is emphasized that Jay's parents are indeed going to be introduced in Ghosts season 4. This storyline was previously announced during the show's San Diego Comic-Con 2024. Despite that, the roles of the Arondekar parents have yet to be cast. Whoever plays the pair will join Punam Patel and Andrew Leeds, as they also return as Jays...

With airlines in the United States facing communication issues with the Faa and major airlines grounding operations worldwide, it seemed like the world was on the brink of disaster. Screens at airports turned blue, Fids systems crashed, and chaos reigned as the systems that were meant to protect us from hackers inadvertently caused more harm than good.

If you’d like to see the world’s saddest math equation, just watch “World’s Best.” After being given a lighthearted “equation of me” homework assignment on the first day of school, 12-year-old Prem Patel (Manny Magnus) formulates the following: Prem = (mom + dad) x math + Jerome – dad.” A math whiz still reeling from the loss of his father, Prem proves easy to root for as he navigates adolescence in “7 Days” director Roshan Sethi’s coming-of-age dramedy.
