In a new interview with Los Angeles’ Klos-fm, the Rage Against the Machine guitarist discussed his year-long booking work as music director, which was a role assigned to him by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne themselves.

Howard Stern returned to his SiriusXM show on Wednesday (August 6th) after a long summer break to discuss Ozzy Osbourne‘s passing with Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, among other topics.

Osbourne died on July 22nd, just 17 days after performing a solo and Black Sabbath sets at the “Back to the Beginning” concert, where Metallica played right before him. Stern bluntly asked Ulrich, “Did you have a sense he was going to be dead in a few days?”

“No, no… we hung, we said hello, we hugged,” responded Ulrich (as transcribed by Billboard). It's been just over a week since music legend Ozzy Osbourne sadly passed away, but fans are only just starting to pour out their tributes to the Prince of Darkness. The Godfather of Metal was able to perform one last show, called Back to the Beginning, mere weeks before his death, and fans have already come back together.

As shared in detail by Deadline, Osbourne's funeral was held in Birmingham, UK, the birthplace of Black Sabbath's frontman. From posters proclaiming "Ozzy Forever" to chants of "Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy" and plenty of flowers, thousands of fans of Osbourne and Black Sabbath certainly showed up to say goodbye to the founding father of metal.

He will be laid to rest in his native Birmingham, England this Wednesday, July 30th – but if you’re not in the Birmingham area, there’s still a way you’ll be able to take part in his funeral and pay your respects. Loudwire reports that the Black Sabbath bench website is planning to host a livestream on Wednesday where you’ll be able to watch Ozzy’s funeral procression. It’s expected to begin at 1Pm BST. Musician Yungblud is preparing for his Idols World Tour, slated to start next month and continue through the end of October.

Yungblud’s North American shows will be supported by musical artist Sawyer Hill. The tour will kick off in Los Angeles on August 23 and continue to make stops across the country, concluding the North American leg of the tour in Toronto at the Danforth Music Hall on September 21.

From there, Yungblud will embark on the European leg of the show with musical guests Palaye Royale. He will start the string of performances on October 4 in Amsterdam and conclude on October 31 in Bergamo, Italy.

The 100-minute concert film documenting the band’s sold-out stadium show in Birmingham is currently in production from Mercury Studios.

The English singer was singled out for his performance at the star-studded metal extravaganza, and will now be setting out on tour to support his new album Idols, which was released last month. The tour kicks off on July 25 in metal-mad Romania, and will wind through Europe, then make its way to Japan, the United States, and Canada before looping back to the continent to conclude in Italy on Halloween. The tour will then resume next April for a series of dates in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Since emerging in the late 2010s, the British yelper Yungblud — a.k.a. Doncaster, England-born Dominic Harrison — has become an anti-pop hero. His songs channeled the angst and agitation of youth into frenetic mini-anthems that musically reflected the on-shuffle mentality of the 21st century.
