Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley's husband, Tom Bateman, is set to star in the feature film adaptation of a novel that began as fan-fiction set in a galaxy far, far away. The original story, titled Head Over Feet, chronicled a romantic relationship between Kylo Ren and Rey.

Per Entertainment Weekly, Bateman will be taking the lead alongside Lili Reinhart in the big-screen adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's 2021 novel, The Love Hypothesis. The film is slated to be produced via Amazon MGM Studios, with Claire Scanlon directing and Sarah Rothschild penning the screenplay. The story revolves around third-year Ph.D. student Olive who, due to stress and pressure after a breakup, embarks upon a fake relationship with biology professor Doctor Adam J. Carlsen.

Over the course of the novel, Olive and Adam's fake relationship evolves into something far more sincere than either of them could have possibly expected at its outset.

Nothing lasts forever, and you can rest assured that this is extra imperative in a world as high stakes as the one that Star Wars exists in. Heck, look no further than all of the eras that the franchise has taken us through - from the Republic Era to the Imperial Era, that galaxy so far, far away has seen a lot over the years.

Death is one of those inevitable things that the Star Wars universe is full of. We've witnessed plenty of untimely demises throughout the classic franchise, particularly in the original Skywalker Saga that took us through many eras and times - all of which featured epic battles that often ended in the death of at least one character. That trend has continued on into the Disney Plus shows too, which again isn't unexpected considering the life-and-death stakes that the Jedis and Mandalorians of this world face on a daily basis.

Lili Reinhart, best known for playing Betty Cooper on the hit CW series Riverdale, has signed on to star and produce an adaptation of the popular romance novel The Love Hypothesis for Amazon MGM Studios, according to Deadline. Reinhart will play Olive Smith, a biology PhD candidate who enters into a fake relationship with a difficult yet attractive professor named Dr. Adam Carlsen, who will be played by Tom Bateman, before the two begin developing real feelings for one another. The film will be directed by Claire Scanlon, who previously directed the 2018 Netflix romantic comedy Set It Up starring Glenn Powell and Zoey Deutch. Per Rolling Stone, Johnson recently recalled the backlash to 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which in turn led him to look back at his own former disdain for the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy.
