"Don't play games with me." Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for a trashy B-movie crime thriller called Desert Dawn, an American action thriller made by stuntman filmmaker named Marty Murray. This will be dumped on VOD in May this summer if anyone wants to watch a movie they'll forget about minutes later. The generic tagline: "There is no turning back." A newly appointed small-town sheriff and his deputy find themselves in a web of lies and corruption when the murder of a woman leads them to a dangerous conspiracy involving shady businessmen and the cartel. Sounds like so many other movies made too often before. Desert Dawn stars Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigandet as the two sheriffs, along with Niko Foster, Guillermo Ivan, Chad Michael Collins, Helena Haro, Texas Battle, Mike Ferguson, and Peter Nikkos. Some days there just aren't any better trailers to post than ones this bad and forgettable.

Premiere Entertainment Group (Peg) has reported brisk sales at last week’s AFM on the crime thriller Desert Dawn starring Kellan Lutz and Cam Gigandet from Twilight.

Deals have closed in Australia & New Zealand (Rialto), Latin America (A2), Germany (Tiberius), Spain (Flins y Piniculas), France (Program Store), Benelux (Amazon), Eastern Europe (Daro), Russia/Cis (Filmster), Middle East (Eagle Films), Taiwan (Av Jet), and India and airlines (Pictureworks).

Supernatural and 13 Reasons Why actor Pellegrino leads the show about a group of outcasts working at a seedy motel who find themselves in danger when they accidentally uncover a drug smuggling plot for the mafia.

Mr-9: Do or Die is based on the first of a long-running series of mostly ghost-written novels chronicling the adventures of Masud Rana, Bangladesh’s answer to James Bond. Somewhat surprisingly given there are 500 or so novels in the franchise, this is only the second attempt at bringing them to the screen, the first being Masud Rana in 1974. Fifty years later, will the world be more receptive to the Bangladeshi Bond?

The film certainly starts on a familiar note with Rana running unnoticed across wide open lawns in broad daylight without being noticed. Despite his best efforts and his leaving a trail of bodies behind him, his target gets away and the two agents he was supposed to rescued are killed.

Exclusive: US-Bangladeshi action movie Mr-9: Do or Die, starring Abm Sumon, Michael Jai White and Frank Grillo, has been picked up by Quiver Distribution for a North American VOD/digital release this month.

After getting a limited theatrical run in the U.S., Canada and Bangladesh last August, the film will next be released in Russia through Kinologistika on May 2 and in Pakistan through Cine Entertainment on May 17.

Dermot Mulroney stars as an action hero in the thriller Ruthless, taking on a character-driven storyline and performing his own stunts. "Pick your fights, Harry!" "I will." Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for Ruthless, another action crime thriller from the direct-to-video trash pile getting a release this year. Ruthless is the latest film from director Art Camacho, and it's yet another of these "one man will fight to stop a trafficking ring" stories that are being used over-and-over these days. Not at all original, and not really an interesting premise anymore beyond making people endlessly fearful and worried. Also similar to the original Taken. In Ruthless, a high school coach, whose teenage daughter was murdered, takes matters into his own hands and going after the men who kidnap his student as part of a human trafficking operation. Dermot Mulroney stars as Harry, along with Jeff Fahey, Melissa Diaz, Mauricio Mendoza, Tonantzin Esparza, and Niko Foster. I will admit, Mulroney does look badass in this being so burn-it-all-down ruthless in here.

Exclusive: Frank Grillo action film Mr-9: Do or Die has struck a North American distribution deal with Canadian outfit Swapna Scarecrow.

Swapna is due to release the film in 150 screens in U.S. and Canada on August 25, the same day it will be released in Bangladesh by Jaaz Multimedia. Above and below are first look images from the film.

Filmmaker Asif Akbar directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nazim Ud Daula and Abdul Aziz. The film is based on the popular spy thriller novels by the late Bangladeshi writer Qazi Anwar Hussain. Hussain published 550 novels in the series, which was modeled after the James Bond series. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we understand Sumon plays the lead character Masud Rana, a secret agent under the codename Mr-9 for the Bangladesh Counter Intelligence Agency.

Exclusive: Indian Two Time Grammy Award composer and environmentalist Ricky Kej has signed to compose the original music for American-Bangladeshi writer-director Asif Akbar’s spy action-thriller Mr-9 featuring Frank Grillo as a villain.

Based on the popular Masud Rana novels written by late novelist Qazi Anwar Hussain, top Bangladeshi actor Abm Sumon stars as secret agent Rana – code name Mr-9 – of the Bangladesh Counter Intelligence Agency. Grillo plays his evil nemesis, Roman Ross.

The film was shot over the summer in the U.S. and Bangladesh and is now in post-production.

Exclusive: Fortress star Kelly Greyson has joined the cast of Mr-9, the Frank Grillo-starring spy action-thriller adapted from the James Bond-influenced Masud Rana novels.

Greyson will play Gia, lead henchwoman and mistress of villain Roman Ross, who is being played by Captain America star Grillo.

Greyson has just starred in Fortress and Fortress 2 alongside the likes of Bruce Willis and Chad Michael Murray. Past credits include Mike Burns’ Out of Death, in which she also co-starred with Willis, Guy Pearce-starring action thriller Disturbing the Peace and Broken Memories.

To say I was excited when the press release for The Dark Within dropped into my inbox is somthing of an understatement. You see, I am a Huge fan of writer/director David Ryan Keith’s 2017 film Ghosts of Darkness which, despite numerous [aborted] release dates, has yet to hit physical media here in the UK. That film was a fantastic horror comedy which really showed off both director Keith and actor Paul Flannery – both of whom team up for their follow up effort The Dark Within. A film that could not be, thematically, further from their previous film but is still yet another sublime genre film from the duo.

Welcome to another horror/sci-fi round-up! This time around we have word of two big cast confirmations for Independence Day 2, details on Scream Factory's Deep in the Darkness Blu-ray / DVD release, and information on the new Blanc/Biehn Productions film, Treachery.

Independence Day 2: Last night it was revealed that the first official cast member had signed on to star in Roland Emmerich's Independence Day 2, the sequel to his 1996 film that featured massive alien-induced destruction and larger-than-life characters. It's now been confirmed that one of those characters will be coming back, as Emmerich tweeted last night that Jeff Goldblum will appear in the sequel, likely reprising his role as the brainy and dryly humorous David Levinson, who teamed up with fighter pilot Captain Steven Hiller to take down the mothership in the original film. Smith will not be coming back to reprise his role as Steven.

Origin has acquired rights to Blanc/Biehn Productions’ dark thriller starring Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc Biehn.

Travis Romero wrote and directed Treachery, which explores the life of a man who is stranded with his estranged son at a remote wedding as dark truths rise to the surface.

The film also stars Sarah Butler, Chris Meyer, Caitlin Keats, Matthew Ziff, Lorraine Ziff, Christian Meoli and Tanya Newbould.

“Origin Releasing is very excited to have this film its release slate for fourth quarter of 2015,” said Origin CEO Niko Foster. “Michael Biehn is an incredible actor with an incredible fan base and this project will find a great home on VOD and DVD.”

Javelina 98 and Three Little Birds also produced the thriller. Blanc/Biehn Productions brokered the deal with Origin.

Brian T. Jaynes (Boggy Creek) has released the third trailer for his feature Humans Versus Zombies, which puts several zombe game players into the real thing. The

zombie apocalypse breaks up relationships while taking lives in this thrilling clip. Recently Humans Versus Zombies has secured a theatrical distribution deal and this title is expected to release in November of this year.
