Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War had us confront many changes in the storyline and art style, but it also extended to a few of the voice cast. A prime example is the recasting of Yasutora “Chad” Sado’s replacement. His original voice actor was Jamieson Price, but he’s now voiced by Alain Mesa.

These changes caused some debate amongst fans, who loved what the original voice actors brought to these characters. The anime series for Bleach ended 10 years ago, but has returned now. The change is jarring, but it brings up a very important conversation about the voice acting industry.

Most English voice casts in anime consist of white actors, whereas Bleach involves characters from diverse racial backgrounds. The change might have been controversial, but it was a necessary move.

Bleach Seeks to Be More Inclusive With Its Voice Cast

As previously mentioned, Tite Kubo didn’t make all of his characters exclusively Japanese.

More than a decade ago, Bleachdominated the anime world as one of Shonen Jump's iconic Big Three, and the Thousand-Year Blood War has brought life back into the franchise. Bleach fans have met a lot of powerful characters over the years, including Soul Reapers, Hollows, Quincy, and Fullbringers. Most of these characters have been strong since their debut, but others were considered fairly weak until they unexpectedly became strong.

Many seemingly weak Soul Reapers turned out to be hiding what they were truly capable of. A few innocent-looking Arrancar turned out to be as strong as Captain-level Soul Reapers. One character turned out to be a legitimate Kidō master, while another secretly had the power to destroy gods all along.

There are plenty of things that make Tite Kubo's hit series Bleach such a joy to read or watch, from the series' supernatural combat system and partial isekai elements to its great humor and, most of all, its delightful cast of characters. As a "Big Three" shonen title, Bleach boasts some legendary characters that are fondly remembered to this day, and the characters often play off each other in fascinating, humorous, dramatic and thematic ways.

The characters in Bleach can be categorized and sorted in a few ways, such as heroes vs. villains, their tribe, or even their world of origin since they come from not just one but four distinct realms. That helps make Bleach's cast more varied and colorful than ever, and they are a pleasure for new fans to meet.

The news about a potential Call of Duty film first surfaced in 2015 when Activision Blizzard launched a production studio called Activision Blizzard Studios. Many sources confirmed at the time that the motion picture production company was working on a live-action movie based on the Call of Duty video game franchise. It’s been four years since the last announcement but many fans on social media are positive that Activision Blizzard will soon announce the movie. Last year, there were many debates over the film’s cast and a petition was filed that demanded that the film features actors from the game itself. The petition faced criticism as there have been rumors about Henry Cavill and Jensen Ackles joining the project.
