Last year, Charles Band’s company Full Moon announced that they were launching a new production label called Pulp Noir, which would focus on “edgier, weirder, darker horror and dark fantasy films.” Two Pulp Noir movies, Quadrant and Death Streamer, have since made their way through production – and while those movies were initially released in color, all of the Pulp Noir movies will also get black & white “noir” releases, so there are both color and black & white versions of Quadrant and Death Streamer available on the Full Moon Features streaming service. While we wait for more Pulp Noir movies to be made, Band has started going through the Full Moon library to give some of their older films the black & white / noir treatment. Last month, a “noir” version of the 1984 sci-fi thriller Christmas classic Trancers was released through Full Moon Features and YouTube, as was a black & white version of the 1997 creature feature The Creeps.

Warning: Spoilers ahead Harper Lee released the first chapter of her highly-anticipated new novel “Go Set a Watchman” on Friday. The novel marks the first new work by Lee since “To Kill a Mockingbird” was originally published in 1960. It picks up 20 years after the events of the first book, in which Jean Louise “Scout” Finch returns to Maycomb, Alabama from New York to visit her father Atticus. The chapter begins with Jean Louise travelling by train back to Maycomb County. She goes through a brief history of the area, describing it as “a gerrymander some seventy miles long and spreading thirty miles.

Nothing says “Full Moon” like the “Puppet Master” franchise. I am always surprised they come out with a new film and we are already up to the tenth entry! I have had mixed feelings about this franchise and this movie is no different. While it is better than the ninth installment, it is lacking the magic the first films had. Charles Band returns to write and direct this entry.

The movie continues where the previous movie left off. Danny and Beth have discovered that the Nazis have Tunneler and want to extract the serum from him to create super soldiers.

The Dead Want Women, don’t we all? Well obviously not like they do or it would be quite illegal and questionable in nature. Full Moon Entertainment give us yet another tale of horror and gore, with 88 Films giving the film a release in the United Kingdom that it may or may not deserve. The fact is though it’s quite a watchable film and when they are releasing so many classics there is space for film like this that have definite quality issues if it also means we also get the better quality ones too.

In the “roaring twenties” Rose Pettigrew is the star of the silent movies and at the top of her game; then the talkies take over.

I’m of the unpopular opinion that every motion picture with a budget under one million dollars should contain zombies, naked women, and Eric Roberts. And if you wish to have Eric Roberts portray a zombie, then you automatically get worldwide distribution. Charles Band seems to understand this formula, as his upcoming direct-to-video opus “The Dead Want Women” includes all of the aforementioned requirements. Hey, at least it doesn’t have puppets. 'Puppet Master: The Legacy' and 'The Gingerdead Man' helmer Charles Band is back with another supernatural horror for Full Moon Pictures. 'The Dead Want Women' stars hottie Jessica Morris (below) who you may recall getting topless in Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott comedy 'Role Models' a few years back. It's been a few months since we've gotten an update on Byron Turk's Welcome to the Bates Motel, but it is currently in post and the filmmakers have released a behind-the-scenes "making of" video that sheds some light on the process of filming a movie at the world famous Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.

The film, which is produced/directed by Byron Turk and written by J. L. Stremberg, stars Jean-Louise O'Sullivan, Zachary Fletcher, Cosimo Mariano, Ryan Dunn, and Randy Bates.

Synopsis:

The Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride is one of the scariest haunts in the world. When a mysterious death occurs at the park, Agnes Rickover starts a personal investigation to prove the accident was really a murder. Despite being dismissed as crazy by her father, Agnes must uncover and stop a deadly plot before the Haunt claims any more victims.

First-timer David Robert Mitchell directs a young cast (Jade Ramsey, Amy Seimetz, Nikita Ramsey, Amanda Bauer, Jean Louise O'Sullivan, Claire Sloma) in a story that looks a bit like Gus Van Sant remaking a John Hughes movie, or even like a Larry Clark movie that isn't wholly creepy. One of the films I’ve only heard great things about coming out of SXSW and Cannes is David Robert Mitchell‘s indie romantic comedy The Myth of the American Sleepover. On first glance, it might look to be your generic festival coming-of-age story, but there seems to be something genuine about the whole thing. Indie Horror Month is winding down here at Dread Central, but that doesn't mean we've stopped seeking out all the latest indie horror projects on the horizon. Today we bring info, artwork, and a trailer for producer/director Byron Turk's Welcome to the Bates Motel.

The film, which is based on and was shot entirely at "The Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride" in Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania, is currently in the editing process. It was written by J. L. Stremberg and stars Jean Louise O'Sullivan, Zachary Fletcher, Dante Cosimo, and Ryan Dunn.
