‘Nanoshark’ VOD Review
Image
Stars: Darren Stevens, Mark Templin, Peter Whittaker, Ellen Mildred, Melanie Evans | Written by Trevor Payer | Directed by Brett Kelly

[Note: Nerdly’s Managing Editor Phil is listed as an Executive Producer on the following film, however that does not, and will not, affect the outcome of this review]

Does anyone remember a film from the 60s called Fantastic Voyage? It starred Stephen Boyd and Raquel Welch as doctors who were miniaturized and injected into an injured scientist to save his life by dissolving a blood clot. It was a fun, if silly, piece of big-budget sci-fi that was constantly on TV well into the 80s. Now the makers of Nanoshark, director Brett Kelly and writer Trevor Payer, have given us an updated version, and not only has he done it for less than the original’s daily coffee budget, he’s added a shark, a nanoshark no less, to the plot as well.

As the Prime Minister, this is a Canadian film, is preparing to give a speech, his son collapses. Doctors determine that he’s the victim of a rare blood disease,...

“For Mature Audiences Only”: treasured TV oldsters of yesteryear
Some may say that television hasn’t been too good to senior citizens in terms of their stereotypical depictions. Regardless of the unflattering portrayals there had been some memorable oldsters (in this case over 60) that have given us equal shares of both laughs and cries. In “For Mature Audiences Only”, let’s take a look at some of the more mature characterizations that had an impact on our daily doses of entertainment on the glorious boob tube.

Instead of doing a typical top ten or top twenty listing let’s go in between with a top fifteen selection, shall we? The “For Mature Audiences Only” choices are not necessarily a tasting that everyone will agree on. Perhaps you have your own preferences that were omitted or something that you feel should be added? Anyway, here are the candidates in alphabetical order…

Now for our pop cultural Pepto Bismol personalities:

1.) Doc Galen Adams,...

Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford in Die Jeffersons (1975)
Keli Goff: Has The Good Wife Given Us the Meanest Mother-in-law in TV History?
Sherman Hemsley and Isabel Sanford in Die Jeffersons (1975)
For fans of The Good Wife, this season has been full of surprising plot twists and unexpected cliffhangers: Will Peter run for governor? Will Alicia support him if he does? Will Chandler from Friends remain a recurring character or disappear abruptly just like that blonde girl who got the job because she was the niece of one of the partners at the firm? But perhaps the most pressing question of all: Who will ultimately win the showdown between the show's title character, "good wife" Alicia Florrick, and her mother-in-law Jackie, a woman who would give Lady Macbeth the willies? When it comes to awful fictional mothers-in-law, as far as I'm concerned, Jackie Florrick secured her place among the greats in last week's episode. Let's take a look back at some of her fellow Hall-of-Famers, television's most horrifying mothers-in-law through the years.

Endora, Bewitched

Plenty of people may call their mothers-in-law a witch behind her back,...

The Greatest Movie Ever Sold – The Review
Oops! That’s not the complete title it’s actually Pom Wonderful Presents The Greatest Movie Ever Sold. Well, that’s explained during the course of this new documentary from Morgan Spurlock- the man behind the TV show ” 30 Days ” and the features Super Size Me and Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden? ( no need for a sequel to that one ). In this new film the easy-going everyman explores the world of sponsorship and movie marketing.

Spurlock begins the film with a simple premise-i’ll make a film about product placement and finance it with money from corporate sponsors. He sets up meetings with these companies and marches through their lobbies carrying a big portfolio and spreading out art boards adorned with concept illustrations ( one is a cartoon-like sketch of him showing artwork to seated execs ) on to long conference room table like Mad Men’s Don Draper...
