THR reports that Kristin Wiig will voice the character of Roboto, one of He-Man's (Nicholas Galitzine) allies.

Wiig played the villainous Cheetah in Wonder Woman 1984, but is mainly known for comedic roles in the likes of Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters (2016), and Paul.

Roboto was a robot (believe it or not) who was built by Man-At-Arms to join the ranks of He-Man's Heroic Warriors. The character, who is usually depicted as a male, emerged as one of the most popular action figures in the classic Motu toy line due to his transparent chest and interchangeable arm.

Perry's upcoming faith-based film, Ruth & Boaz, gets a first look as he looks to bring a popular Bible story to life.

Per Collider, Perry's Ruth & Boaz offered a new sneak peek showing the titular couple flirting with each other during the modern-day biblical retelling. Empire star Serayah McNeill portrays Ruth, while P-Valley actor Tyler Lepley portrays Boaz.

Perry stepped back from the director's chair for Ruth & Boaz, producing the upcoming drama alongside pastor and best-selling author DeVon Franklin. Trees and Peace's Alanna Brown helmed the project, with Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan co-penning the screenplay. Production on Ruth & Boaz took place last fall.

Audible will release DeVon Franklin’s one-man theatrical event “Be True: My Journey from Breakdown to Breakthrough” on Jan. 29, 2026.

DeVon Franklin is an author, producer and motivational speaker best known for his work on faith-based films “Heaven Is For Real” and “Miracles From Heaven.” He has also developed shows for television and has written various self-help books where he offers guidance rooted in his personal experiences, relationships and sense of spirituality.

“Be True” is an autobiographical stage play, where Franklin chronicles his personal story of redemption, from divorce to remarriage and from doubt to success. It marks the first time that he has opened up about his public break-up with his wife and the growth that followed. The performance was delivered and recorded live at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York City earlier this month.

Last year, we got word that Amazon MGM and Mattel's live-action Masters of the Universe reboot had added another major cast member, with Alison Brie set to take on the role of the villainous Evil-Lyn.

As her name suggests, Evil-Lyn is a wicked and powerful sorceress who serves as Skeletor's second-in-command. Lyn was played by Meg Foster in the previous live-action movie, and was voiced by Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey in Netflix's Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series, which added some new dimensions to the character.

Brie has some experience playing a cartoonishly evil villain thanks to her Glow character's wrestling persona, Zoya "the Destroya."

While promoting her new horror movie, Together, during an interview with Collider, Brie was asked about the perception that this take on Motu would be more serious in tone than the classic '80s animated series, and responded with the following.

Earlier this week, Amazon MGM unveiled the official logo for the live-action Masters of the Universe movie - which also included a new version of the '80s animated series' theme - in advance of the studio's Sdcc presentation, and some photos from the Con's Motu display have now been shared online.

There's no sign of any characters from the movie, unfortunately, but we do have a first look at He-Man's (Nicholas Galitzine) Power Sword, aka the Sword of Grayskull, and Skeletor's (Jared Leto) signature ram's-head Havoc Staff.

The sword is an important part of Motu lore, and was given to Prince Adam by the Sorceress to use as a means of transforming into Eternia's muscle-bound protector. When Adam holds aloft his magic sword and says... you know the rest!

Producers Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin bring the story of Ruth and Boaz into the present with Ruth & Boaz, a modern-day retelling of the biblical love story, and the chemistry is palpable in a new clip featuring the titular couple. Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Affirm Films has released the official trailer and key art for its upcoming feature Soul on Fire, based on the true story of bestselling author and speaker John O’Leary — a boy who survived the unthinkable and became a man who chose to live with purpose.

Director Haifaa al-Mansour, producer Effie T. Brown and technology executive Annie Chang are joining the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors as the three new governors-at-large, the Academy announced on Monday.

With the new additions to the board that was created by recent elections in each Academy branch, the makeup of the 55-person board will become 30 women and 25 men, and 17 governors from underrepresented communities.

Al-Mansour is a Saudi Arabian director whose films “Wadjda” and “The Perfect Candidate” represented Saudi Arabia in the Oscars Best International Feature Film category; the first of those was the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia and the first made by a female Saudi director. Brown is a producer whose work includes “Real Woman Have Curves,” “Rocket Science” and “Dear White People.” Chang is the vice president of creative technologies at Universal and serves as chair of the Academy’s Science and Technology council.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has named three new governors-at-large to its Board of Governors: Haifaa Al-Mansour (directors branch), Effie T. Brown (producers branch) and Annie Chang. Each will begin a three-year term with the start of the Academy’s 2025–2026 fiscal year.

Saudi Arabian director Haifaa al-Mansour, indie producer Effie T. Brown and Universal Pictures VP creative technologies and Academy Science & Technology Council Chair Annie Chang will be joining the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 55-seat board of governors as governors-at-large next month, the Academy announced on Monday.

The trio were appointed by outgoing president Janet Yang — who is herself, along with Devon Franklin and Rodrigo García, one of the three current governors-at-large who are about to finish their second consecutive three-year term, and therefore are mandated by Academy rules to step away from the board for at least two years — and were then confirmed by the full board to three-year terms.

Incumbents once again dominated elections for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Board of Governors, with 10 board members being reelected to their positions and three past governors returning to the board after a hiatus.

The new live-action Masters of the Universe movie from Amazon MGM Studios recently wrapped principal photography, with several main and supporting cast members sharing behind-the-scenes photos featuring teasing glimpses of their respective costumes.

This latest take on the classic animated series/toy line features a sprawling cast and a lot of characters (some have yet to be announced), and it sounds like we may also get an appearance from the original live-action He-Man, Dolph Lundgren.

Speculation that Lundgren, who played Eternia's muscle-bound protector in the much-maligned 1987 movie, might be set to make a cameo in the reboot first began when the actor shared some social media posts mentioning a "secret" project he was working on in London early on during production, and the '80s action star was asked about the rumors during an interview with Mensjournal.com.

Yesterday, Masters of the Universe star Nicholas Galitzine announced that the live-action movie had officially wrapped principal photography with a first look at his He-Man costume, and co-star Camila Mendes has now followed suit with some behind-the-scenes photos of her own.

The Riverdale star took to Instagram to post several photos from her time working on the project, and appears in one shot in her Teela outfit as she chows down on a cheeseburger.

"That’s a wrap on Motu," Mendes writes. "Getting to play Teela has been one of the most exciting and challenging experiences of my career. The week of suspense between my final audition and getting the part was excruciating to say the least. but here I am almost a year later, a full-blown gym bro and converted redhead, wrapping up 7 incredible months of living like a London girl, eating like an athlete, and running around as a warrior woman!

Though we've yet to see anything particularly revealing so far, Masters of the Universe supporting cast members have been sharing behind-the-scenes photos from their time working on the live-action adaptation to social media, and we now have a teasing first glimpse of Sam C. Wilson as one of He-Man's most recognizable foes, Trap Jaw.

As you can see, Wilson only posted a close-up shot of his eye, but the image does confirm that Skeletor's "Wizard of Weapons" will retain his green-skinned face (whether he'll also have the blue body remains to be seen) from the original animated series.

Trap Jaw, or Trapjaw as he was known in the subsequent animated shows, was a criminal named Kronis who arrived to Eternia from another dimension. The 2002 animated series ret-conned his origin slightly to make him an enemy of Skeletor who lost his jaw and arm in a battle with the villain...

The upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie from Mattel and Amazon MGM Studios is set to feature a lot of characters (it would probably take less time to list the heroes and villains that won't appear) from the original animated series, toy line, and various comic book runs, including a few fairly obscure allies of He-Man.

Stephen Adentan is set to play Moss Man, and has now taken to social media to announce that he has finished filming his scenes while also sharing a BTS look at the practical costume he'll don as Eternia's guardian of the natural world.

Moss Man only made two appearances in the '80s cartoon as a spy who could camouflage himself by transforming into a plant, but his origins were retconned in the comics and later animated shows, reimagining the character as one of the most powerful beings in Eternia.

Kendrick Lamar was top winner at the 2025 BET Awards, held in Los Angeles Monday night.

The rapper took home the awards for album of the year for Gnx, best male hip-hop artist, video of the year for “Not Like Us” and best collaboration alongside Sza for “Luther.” Lamar also shared the award for video director of the year with his longtime creative partner Dave Free.

Sza and Chris Brown won best female and male R&b/pop artists, respectively. Doechii also won the award for best female hip-hop artist. During the latter’s acceptance speech, the rapper called out President Donald Trump for the “ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order” amid protests against unlawful immigration raids in Los Angeles.

The live-action Masters of the Universe movie is now filming at Wookey Hole in Somerset after recently finishing up at the Wells Cathedral, and star Nicholas Galitzine has shared some photos and video clips from the massive underground cave system that is believed to be doubling for the caves of Eternia.

In one brief clip, the Cinderella actor can be seen posing from behind a curtain in his He-Man costume. He is completely obscured, but the silhouette does reveal one detail about the outfit.

Not too surprisingly, it seems this next big-screen take on the muscle-bound hero will be ditching the furry loincloth the character wore in the original animated series for a leather tunic or Pteruges.

We have seen Galitzine as Prince Adam (alongside Camila Mendes as Teela) in set photos, but aside from a partial reveal via the initial production still (see above), we have yet to get...

The world of Tyler Perry’s Sistas is expanding with a second spinoff series, Divorced Sistas, set to premiere June 10 on BET+, and now we have our first look at the explosive offshoot (via the trailer above).

Filming on the live-action Masters of the Universe movie is still taking place in London, and while we have seen quite a few set photos of star Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam, we have yet to see him in full He-Man mode.

Some photos of Mattel's display at the recent Licensing Expo have now been shared online, and the statue might just give is our first look at the character design for Galitzine's take on Eternia's muscle-bound protector, who Adam transforms into when he holds aloft his magic sword and says... you know the rest!

Though it's difficult to make out the statue's facial features, If you look closely at the base, you'll notice that it bears the movie's title treatment. This would obviously indicate that this is official tie-in merch, and not based on any previous animated or live-action incarnation of the character.

What's old is new again remains to be the leading philosophy in creating television series these days. Another reboot of a fan-favorite '90s show has hit early development, and it's probably the last one anyone was expecting. The WB's — and later The CW's, at least for one season — family drama series 7th Heaven is the latest small screen sensation from yesteryear to get a modern update.

Variety reported on Monday, May 19, 2025 that CBS Studios, the production company behind the hit series, has been in early development on a potential reboot series. Because it's so early in the process, there's no streaming service or network attached to the project, though Paramount+ or CBS would be the most logical fits for the reboot. However, we do know that a certain original cast member is working behind the scenes to get the series made. Again, you'd never guess!

Long-running family drama 7th Heaven is eying a return. Anthony Sparks (Queen Sugar) is set to write the potential new incarnation for CBS Studios, Deadline has confirmed. Deals are still being finalized, with original series’ star Jessica Biel expected to executive produce the project, now in nascent stages, through her production company Iron Ocean.

Also attached to executive produce is DeVon Franklin via Franklin Entertainment under his overall deal with CBS Studios.

The original 7th Heaven, which aired for 11 seasons across the CW and the CW, marked one of the last hits of prolific producer Aaron Spelling whose library is owned by CBS Studios. The studio previously revived his Beverly Hills, 90210 twice and also shopped around a new Melrose Place.

As filming on the live-action Masters of the Universe movie continues in London, these latest photos and a video from the set give us a first glimpse of Camila Mendes in full costume as Teela.

The Riverdale star was spotted shooting several scenes (including an action sequence) with Nicholas Galitzine, who is in Prince Adam mode here. We assume Teela comes to Earth to bring the amnesiac Adam back to his home world of Eternia, where he will fulfil his destiny as He-Man.

Teela has been a permanent fixture of the Motu franchise ever since those first mini-comics, and is usually depicted as Prince Adam's protector and He-Man's right-hand woman/love-interest.

We recently got our first (distant) glimpse of Castle Grayskull and several costumed actors - one of whom might just have been Jared Leto as Skeletor - on the set of the live-action Masters of the Universe movie, and thanks to ForEternia.com, we now have a look at a huge map of Eternia - complete with some very interesting illustrations.

Some zoomed in (though still not the clearest) shots of the figures surrounding the map reveal what appear to be depictions of a number of supporting characters, including Zodak and King Hiss, as well as Bow, Netossa, and Perfuma from She-Ra!

Zodak, aka the Cosmic Enforcer, is a powerful, immortal Eternian who is a sword enemy of the Snake Men, led by King Hiss. While it's not particularly surprising to see these figures from the lore's ancient history on a map, we did not expect to see any She-Ra references in the movie.

A sizzle reel for Amazon MGM and Mattel's live-action Masters of the Universe movie screened for those in attendance at CinemaCon last week, and while the footage was not released online (a first teaser trailer is probably still a while off), we do have some new photos from the London set.

These drone shots were taken from quite a distance, but we can make out what appears to be Castle Graysull's unmistakable jaw-drawbridge, as well as a captive Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) and several hooded figures, one of whom might just be Skeletor (Jared Leto).

Though there's a chance this could simply be one of Skeletor's minions (there are a number of other skull-armoured individuals nearby), he does appear to be holding the villain's signature ram's head Havoc Staff.

The embattled ex-Marvel actor confirms his marriage to former DC Extended Universe star Meagan Good days before the premiere of his next film, Magazine Dreams.

Speaking on Sherri Shepherd's talk show, Sherri, Majors revealed he and Good secretly wedded on Mar. 18, calling it the "happiest day of my life." According to the acclaimed actor, "it was always the plan" for him and the Shazam! franchise star to tie the knot, having gotten her father's blessing before they walked the aisle.

"I said to Meagan yesterday, I said, 'Today might be the happiest day of my life,'" he said while holding back tears. "I love that woman so much. So how it had happened — well, Lord, Sherri thank you. We fell in love." He added, "I asked her father for permission.

“I said to Meagan yesterday, ‘Today might be the happiest day of my life,’ ” the 35-year-old actor told host Sherri Shepherd as he fought back tears. “I love that woman so much.”

He continued by saying that it was “always the plan” to marry the 43-year-old actress, adding that he requested the blessing of Good’s father before popping the question. TMZ reported that the proposal took place last year in Paris. “I asked her father for permission … if that was all right, and he said, ‘That’s cool,’ ” Majors said. “It was a longer conversation.

Masters of the Universe fans are already hyped up about the return of He-Man to the big screen next summer after several images gave a sneak peek at Nicholas Galitzine’s iteration of Eternia’s muscleman, but has Dolph Lundgren cranked the hype up a little further by teasing an appearance in the movie? Some fans certainly seem to think so as the actor posted several images of himself in London for a “secret project,” which is coincidentally – or not – where Masters of the Universe is currently filming.

Lundgren played He-Man back in 1987, in the only live-action entry in the action fantasy franchise. While the movie was deemed a disaster at the time, mainly thanks to it bearing very little resemblance to the popular 80s cartoon series and toy line, the film has stood the test of time as a cult classic and Lundgren is still part of its legacy.
