The All-India Football Federation’s Competition Committee has recommended the launch of the inaugural edition of the pan-India Institutional Football League in January 2024. The league will be a pan-India amateur football competition to boost institutional football and encourage players’ recruitment by Private Corporations, Public Sector units, State Departments, Ministerial units, Police/Defence/Paramilitary Forces (Unit-Level) and Railways (Division-level), the All-India Football Federation (Aiff) informed in a statement on Tuesday.

The Committee recommended the introduction of the Institutional Football League following a virtual meeting held on Tuesday to discuss the way forward for various domestic competitions in the country.

The meeting was held in the presence of Aiff Secretary General Dr Shaji Prabhakaran along with Deputy Secretary General Satyanarayan M. Members of the Competition Committee, Mohan Lal (Chhattisgarh), Syed Imtiaz Husain (Bihar), K. Neibou Sekhose (Nagaland), Bikramjit Purkayastha (Delhi), and Aslam Ahmed Khan (Karnataka), attended the meeting.

The film, which was released on August 10, is said to have collected Rs 23 crore in Kerala alone so far, a new collection record for the Tamil superstar. While there is no denying that Rajinikanth is an absolute crowd-puller, the film’s success can also be attributed to the strategically placed cameos of Malayalam and Kannada superstars Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar to attract viewers from across languages. Both Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar appear briefly in Jailer as uber-cool gangsters with mass-appeal scenes just like Rajinikanth, much to the excitement of their fans. Besides them, Malayali actor Vinayakan, who has carved his own niche as a versatile performer, plays the villain in the film.

Costume designer Jyoti Madnani Singh’s new film ‘Mumbaikar’ premiered on ‘JioCinema’ on 2nd of June. Mumbaikar boasts of heavy-duty star-cast that includes Vijay Sethupathi, Vikrant Massey, Sanjay Mishra, Sachin Khedekar, Tanya Maniktala and others. Jyoti Madnani Singh aka Jms, has dressed every single one of the characters in the sprawling cast. Jyoti’s costume does justice to the story setting that consists of characters from dark world of Mumbai and common Mumbaikar belonging to various strata of life.

Talking about how she landed up getting the assignment from a Kerala based production house, Jyoti said, “I have designed costumes for several realistic films in past like Rahasya, T for Tajmahal, Chaarfutiya Chhokare, etc, and had just finished shooting for thriller ‘420 Ipc’. Makers somehow got a whiff of my work. As Mumbaikar is also a thriller with tinge of drama-action in a realistic scenario, I reckon, I fitted the bill.
