The show that best understood Perry’s sensibility and, more than that, the essence of what he projected best onscreen may not have been one of his signature successes, and may not be one of the first half-dozen shows that heartbroken fans look back on as we reflect on Perry, who died this weekend at 54. Empirically, it wasn’t a success at all.

Go On ran for 22 episodes on NBC between 2012 and 2013 and was canceled after that lone season. It has fans — any show with an ensemble that included Tyler James Williams, Laura Benanti, Brett Gelman, Sarah Baker, John Cho and more is going to find fans — but only a small audience.

Tammy, a 2014 comedy movie starring Melissa McCarthy and directed by Ben Falcone, was primarily filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, known for its popularity among film and TV productions. Other locations utilized for filming in North Carolina included Shallotte for a fast-food restaurant scene and Boiling Spring Lakes for a waterfront scene. Although the characters in the film visit Louisville, Kentucky, and Niagara Falls, New York, the actual filming took place in Wilmington and New York to capture the iconic scenes at Niagara Falls.

Tammy tells the story of a woman named Tammy and her grandmother who go on a road trip across the United States as they both undergo personal struggles, but the majority of the film was shot in one state. Alan Arkin was remembered by his friends and colleagues as a giant talent in film, television and theater, a man whose winding life paths seemed to be able to transform any role. But it was the small gestures that were most prominent, the little generosities that stayed with people many years.

The SAG Awards: when you're here, you're family. Amid all the onscreen and real-life family members in attendance on Feb. 27, Emily Osment and Haley Joel Osment made a heartwarming appearance that reminded viewers they are indeed siblings.

At this year’s Emmy Awards, the final season of Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method” went out on a nominations high, earning six bids for its last six episodes. The Chuck Lorre series hopes to maintain that momentum at the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards, where it will be eligible for the last time. Though the competition among comedy series has only heated up since the summer, “Kominsky” looks right on the cusp of some farewell nominations.

“The Kominsky Method” has a strong track record at the SAG Awards. Its first two seasons both earned three nominations for ensemble, Douglas and Alan Arkin. Arkin departed the series before the final installment, so he will not be eligible. Gold Derby anticipates the series is competitive to hold onto its other two nominations, though, with both the ensemble and Douglas in sixth place in our current combined odds.
