If you’re looking for a crime thriller, The Terminal List delivers in 8 episodes. Based on Jack Carr’s novel of the same name, it stars Chris Pratt in the lead role as Navy Seal James Reece. The story starts when a covert mission goes wrong, leaving his entire team dead. When he searches for answers, he uncovers a conspiracy that puts his life as well as the people he loves in immediate danger.
With eight episodes, we see how Reece gets deep down in danger. And now with a prequel on the way, it’s a perfect time to revisit The Terminal List with an episode guide.

Chris Pratt has played many roles in his career, but his role as James Reece in The Terminal List would definitely be the most hardcore.

Prime Video’s proudly “anti-woke” action thriller will be making some “mandatory changes” as it heads into its second season. Starring Chris Pratt2 as a US Navy Seal with a conflicting memory, The Terminal List is one of the streamer’s biggest action hits outside of Reacher, and while the upcoming second season won’t be changing its approach too much, creator Jack Carr has now stated that some changes are needed.
These changes pertain to how closely The Terminal List adapts the books on which it’s based. Carr, who not only wrote the book series but is also credited as co-creator and an executive producer on the series, has explained (via People) why The Terminal List Season 2 will need to veer away from his source material as it heads into its next chapter. And it’s all to do with what’s happened in the real world...

The Terminal List universe is back — and it’s jacked, locked, and loaded.
Prime Video just dropped the official trailer for The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, the long-awaited prequel that rewinds the clock to explore the gritty, gut-wrenching origin story of Ben Edwards, played by a ferociously intense (and absurdly good-looking) Taylor Kitsch.
Set to the soulful drawl of “Simple Man,” the trailer unleashes a barrage of Seal action that hits harder than anything we’ve seen since Seal Team signed off.
(Prime Video/Screenshot)
Honestly, we missed this. The brotherhood. The brutality. The adrenaline. The beards. All of it.
This time, it’s Ben’s story.
There’s espionage, explosions, helicopter drops, and a tantalizing glimpse of shirtless angst. Plus, a reunion with James Reece, because yes, Chris Pratt is back and still brooding like no one else can.

Guy Ritchie is without a doubt one of the most productive filmmakers working today, as he has already made six films since the beginning of the 2020s, with the two additional features “In the Grey” and “Wife & Dog” coming out soon. While Ritchie’s latest film, “Fountain of Youth,” is a cheap “Indiana Jones” rip-off that ranks as one of his worst efforts, it’s impressive how consistent he has been since his rather humble origins. The 1990s saw many young writer/directors trying to create their own style of twisty, dark comedic neo-noir crime thrillers that were influenced by the work that Quentin Taranntino did on “Pulp Fiction” and “Reservoir Dogs.” However, Ritchie crafted a uniquely British, haphazard style of storytelling that introduced the new subgenre of “underground London crime capers,” which has itself spawned many imitators.

War movies have always been a controversial topic in Hollywood, particularly due to the politics surrounding them. Most filmmakers tend to stay away from them, while others try to stick to World War I or World War II-related films. The post-WW2 war movies mostly deal with the American soldiers fighting the wars in other countries, which is a controversial topic in itself.
Over the years, filmmakers have tackled topics like the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, the war on drugs in the bordering countries, and the presence of the US forces in Afghanistan. These films often explore the moral ambiguity and the dehumanizing nature of such wars. Some films explore the physical and mental toll that wars have on the soldiers. Here are some of the best films tackling these issues.

The Jake Gyllenhaal-led remake of the 80s action classic Road House was a big hit for Amazon last year, and the sequel has now snatched up the perfect director. After some rumor and speculation, it has now been confirmed that Gyllenhaal will reunite with The Covenant director Guy Ritchie for Road House 2, with Will Beall writing the script.
As per a report by Deadline, plot details for Road House 2 are currently being kept under wraps, with Ritchie taking over the reins for the action franchise from the first outing’s Doug Liman following the latter’s frustration with Amazon skipping theaters and debuting the movie on their streaming platform Prime Video. It is not yet known whether the sequel will do the same or hit the big screen.

The Swedish crime drama,”Spring Tide” (originally “Springfloden”) is back with Season 2. I reviewed Season One of the series a couple of months ago (here is the link to that review: https://www.wearemoviegeeks.com/2025/02/spring-tide-season-one-tv-series-review/). Season Two brings back most of those principals for another 10-episode mystery.
Season Two is somewhat larger in scope, covering several crimes in two countries for its geographically scattered cast. It starts in Stockholm with the staged suicide of a possible corporate whistle-blower (Not a spoiler. It wouldn’t have been much of a series if the guy had actually killed himself. It’s just par for the genre course.). Then a dismembered woman’s body washes ashore in Marseilles.

There is no denying that love can make people do wild things, but Loving Adults takes it to a whole other level. The Nordic thriller goes all the way as it asks audiences what happens when love stews into something dark, calculating, and dangerously obsessive. The answer? Nothing good. At the center of the narrative are Christian (Dar Salim) and Leonora (Sonja Richter), a couple with their marriage on the rocks. Involved in an affair, Christian plans to leave his wife for his mistress, but he’s dead wrong in every sense of the word if he thinks she’ll go down without a fight. The back and forth that ensues isn’t just toxic; it’s unreal, and making it even more puzzling is the fact that no one spouse is the clear villain.

Through their journey, Spielberg showcases the perspectives of everyone touched by the war, and the many different kinds of soldiers who fought for their country.
“Saving Private Ryan” is streaming on Paramount+ and Fubo.
“1917” (2019)
