Fans of the legendary Isaac Asimov were skeptical when Apple TV+ launched Foundation in 2021. It was a visual feast on the small screen with its cinematic VFX, lavish sets, and experienced actors portraying the main characters. However, many were also skeptical.
The author’s original books, on which the show is based, spans galaxies and centuries as it engages in cerebral philosophical debates about the collapse of civilization, free will, fate, and more. Translating a nonlinear and jam-packed narrative into serialized, gripping television was always going to be a herculean task.
Asimov understood before his unfortunate death in 1992. He knew that any live-action adaptation of his works would have to depart significantly from the source material. When I, Robot was released in 2004, his daughter, Robyn Asimov, published a quote from her father that stated what he actually thought about the on-screen adaptations of his works.

David S. Goyer, the man who co-wrote Man of Steel with Christopher Nolan, just gave James Gunn’s Superman (2025) a big thumbs up, and that might surprise a lot of Snyder fans. After all, Man of Steel (2013) was famously darker and more grounded, the kind of Superman movie that had Jonathan Kent telling Clark to maybe let a bus full of kids drown, and had a climactic battle that turned Metropolis into a disaster zone. And yes, if you hated the tornado scene, Goyer and Nolan are the ones who wrote that, too. Zack Snyder just brought their script to life visually. So you’d think Goyer would hate Gunn’s take on Superman, which is basically the opposite in tone. But no. In fact, he loved it. Speaking to Cinemablend while promoting Netflix’s The Sandman (which he co-created with Neil Gaiman and Allan Heinberg), Goyer was quick to praise the 2025 reboot.

Spoilers for "Foundation" season 3 follow. If you don't want to ruin the surprises to come, abandon ship now.
"Foundation" season 3 is here, and with it, a host of familiar faces. Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) continues to guide the First Foundation on Terminus. Gaal Dornick (Lou Llobell) is back out of cryogenic sleep and in the thick of the action. Lady Demerzel (Laura Birn) continues to control the Imperial throne, and of course, the three Cleons (Lee Pace) are still doing their thing as figureheads of Empire. This show has managed to maintain remarkable character consistency despite the utter lack thereof in the source material.
And yet, it isn't the familiar faces but an unfamiliar one that is worth noting in the most recent episode. Just three minutes into episode 2, "Shadows in the Math," we get a rapid-fire account of how the Second Foundation evolves over the course of the 151 years...

DC Comics is getting a new franchise with James Gunn's DC Universe, which has officially kicked off with Superman. However, before the new franchise, it was Zack Snyder's time to shine.
In 2013, Snyder was at the helm of another film that rebooted the universe: Man of Steel. The film came after the success of Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy, and kicked off the DC Extended Universe, which lasted for a decade until 2023. Although there's a new Superman out in theaters, Man of Steel has found a new life on streaming, enjoying a newfound popularity on HBO Max, FlixPatrol reports.
Man of Steel is currently in seventh place on Max's global Top 10, just ahead of Grown Ups 2, Anora, and 21 Jump Street. The film's popularity is not surprising because the Snyderverse, which is what Zack Snyder's vision during his time at Warner Bros. is called,...

AppleTV+ has a wide variety of critically acclaimed sci-fi shows that have become major hits. One of them is Foundation.

Foundation season 3 returned on July 11, 2025, after an almost two-year hiatus. The Apple TV+ series is based on Isaac Asimov’s books of the same name. The show has prided itself on its visual sci-fi spectacle and narratively dense writing that steers complex characters. As such, it is an ambitious adaptation in terms of production.
Season 3 faced multiple issues in getting up and running- there were budgetary complications as well as industry-wide strikes that complicated production and release. Making matters worse was the departure of creator David S. Goyer from the show. As such, making Foundation season 3 clearly had its set of challenges. However, despite the long gap, season 3 has bounced back with a perfect 100 % Rotten Tomatoes score.

Apple TV+ is home to the best sci-fi shows in all of television, showcasing the power and versatility of the genre. Arguably the streamer's best show is "Foundation," an adaptation of Isaac Asimov's epic sci-fi book series of the same name, which is hugely influential and also incredibly hard to adapt.
The show succeeds by remixing the books, heavily changing certain things in order to arrive at the same conclusion, as well as tweaking the tone to make the show more of a blockbuster, with epic action we only experience the aftermath of in the books. "Foundation" tells the story of the fall of a galactic empire, and the efforts by a group of scientists to prevent a dark age by establishing a rival nation called the Foundation, using psychohistory to predict large events and prepare for the future.

Throughout the first two seasons of Apple TV+'s underrated sci-fi drama series Foundation, Lou Llobell's character has had quite the arc. With Season 3 on the way, the actor says Gaal Dornick is ready to take on her toughest mission yet.
Foundation Season 3 is set more than 150 years after the events of the second installment, with Dornick preparing to take on The Mule. "Gaal has grown so much, and you see her really take a massive leap into this new role as a leader and someone who’s going to sacrifice everything to make sure the plan stays on track and that The Mule is stopped," Llobell told TechRadar.
"It's beautiful to see her with all these different people (on Ignis) and the relationships that she has (with them)," Llobell said of her Foundation character's jounrney in the series so far. "But her one goal is still to deal with The Mule.

Christopher Nolan thinks one of his biggest movies didn’t get the love it deserved. He recently talked about The Dark Knight Rises and called it an underrated film in his career. In his own words, “I don’t have a favorite of any of my films, but I think The Dark Knight Rises is an underrated movie. There are things in there that we did that are pretty subversive and pretty shocking. It’s as close as I’ll get to adapting A Tale of Two Cities.” Nolan believes there’s more going on in the movie than people usually talk about, and he sees it as more meaningful than most viewers give it credit for.
The Dark Knight Rises came out in 2012 and closed out Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The story takes place eight years after The Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne has disappeared from the public and given up being Batman.

The Sandman's second and final season on Netflix brings all the Endless family members together on-screen. The Endless are the physical manifestations of metaphysical concepts introduced as a family in The Sandman graphic novels, released by Vertigo in the 1990s. The Netflix series, created by Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg, brings the ambitious DC comic to life, with Season 2 expanding the family ties of The Sandman even further.
After introducing several of the Endless in Season 1, The Sandman Season 2 continues Dream's story as he rebuilds his kingdom after being held captive for a century and reunites him with more of his family. The sprawling fantastical nature of The Sandman interweaves original characters with myths, legends, and pop culture, resulting in a complex array of characters who may have relationships that differ from what is expected.

With Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe set to kick off this month with The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, it’s inevitable that we think of one of the fallen soldiers: Blade. While it hasn’t officially been canceled, it was initially supposed to come out this fall and has since been indefinitely delayed, further indicating that things just aren’t as sharp as the studio needs them to be. So where does that leave the planned star of Blade, Mahershala Ali? No further questions.

We almost got a Man of Steel sequel from the director of the last four Mission: Impossible movies. And according to him, it would have been “so f***ing good.”
With James Gunn’s Superman reboot finally here, talk of a sequel, crossovers, and even some early Justice League teases are already circulating online.
As of the recording of this video, I haven’t seen Superman yet—but one thing’s for sure: if this movie does even a little bit well, we can count on a sequel going into development right away.
Or can we?
See, Superman’s cinematic journey has never exactly been smooth. There’s Superman Lives, the infamous unmade project from Kevin Smith and Tim Burton, J.J. Abrams’ scrapped Superman: Flyby, and even the announced-then-silently-scrapped Man of Steel 2—which would have starred Henry Cavill and been directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

As Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed Foundationis gearing up for its third season on the streamer, fans may be wondering about the future of the science fiction series based on the book series by Isaac Asimov. It turns out that some of the cast are also among those who are waiting to see what will happen to the series, which currently boasts a 100% Rotten Tomatoes critic score for its second season.

The wardrobe worn by background vampires in Ryan Coogler’s runaway horror hit “Sinners” began life on a very different set: Marvel Studios’ long-troubled “Blade” reboot. Producer Sev Ohanian disclosed that the indie production bought “a warehouse full of period-appropriate clothes” from Marvel at cost after the superhero project slipped back into limbo.
Ohanian said the outfits had been built under two-time Oscar winner Ruth E. Carter, who was attached to “Blade” during an earlier iteration set in the 1920s. When that version collapsed, Carter’s stockpile proved a lifeline for “Sinners,” which needed era-specific garments on short notice. He stressed that principal cast members received fresh designs while “a lot of the background actors” donned the repurposed pieces.
Marvel’s vampire thriller has endured a revolving door of writers and directors—losing Bassam Tariq in 2023 and Yann Demange in 2024—before Disney removed it from the release slate and placed the project on indefinite hold.

After three years away, The Sandman finally made its triumphant return to Netflix yesterday with the first part of the second and final season. Were those initial six episodes worth the wait, though? That depends on who you talk to, as critics seem divided on how they feel about The Sandman Season 2, which hit Rotten Tomatoes with a 75% rating.
"The second season's opening episodes drag like an inescapable, non-refreshing Rem state," said critic Melanie McFarland, while Pat Stacey from The Irish Independent called it "ponderously paced" and "full of portentous waffle" that "mostly takes itself desperately seriously." Nick Hilton from was another critic who left a scathing review of The Sandman Season 2, writing:
"Like being trapped in a whirlwind of plot and intrigue, which never materializes into something solid enough to get to grips with. Too elusive to be emotive, too fast-paced to be introspective, The Sandman becomes an excessively intricate diorama.

Apple TV+’s Foundation has become one of the most acclaimed sci-fi shows on television — and with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score for its second season, the pressure is high as Season 3 approaches. But even as excitement builds for the show’s return on July 11, the future of the series beyond that remains surprisingly unclear, even for its stars.
Based on the sprawling book series by Isaac Asimov, Foundation follows the epic struggle to preserve civilization amid the inevitable fall of a galactic empire. Since its debut in 2021, the series has been lauded for its ambition, visual spectacle, and rich character arcs. But while Deadline reported back in February 2025 that Apple had quietly greenlit Season 4 — with Ian Goldberg (Fear the Walking Dead) stepping in as showrunner following David S. Goyer’s departure — the cast still seems to be waiting for official confirmation.

“The Sandman” returns to Netflix for a split second and final season; six episodes debut July 3 and the back six drop later in the month.
This may be a bit frustrating for the bingers out there, but take it from someone who’s seen the first half dozen: they have more than enough profound themes, character developments and batshit oddities to savor and ponder for weeks to come.
Neil Gaiman’s comic book demi-god Morpheus, aka Dream of the Endless, is again played with a somnambulant soulfulness by Tom Sturridge. Having reclaimed his magic accoutrements and mystical Dreaming kingdom after a long imprisonment in Season 1, the master of all our sleeping states now spends much of his time realizing that he’s never been a very good person. In Season 2 we learn how, over millennia, he’s let down siblings, the love of his life, his son and a wife...
