Global talent, entertainment, sports and advisory company UTA has signed popular U.K. creators Jack Edwards, Madame Joyce, and Lewis Goodall for global representation in all areas.

The deals fit into UTA’s expansion of its U.K. Creator division which is part of its international growth strategy. The agency is looking to provide digital, gaming/e-sports, and audio talent and groups access to a wider network across unscripted and scripted TV, audio, live touring, publishing, news, and broadcasting.

The three new signings have a combined audience reach of more than 5 million people across their social channels and broadcast platforms.

Madame Joyce is a podcaster, presenter, and media personality with a combined audience of more than 2 million people whose podcast Cocktails & Takeaways delves into celebrity news, gossip, and discussions over drinks. She is being co-represented with Jackie Eyewe, manager and director of Makers Agency.

UTA on Monday announced the expansion of its creator practice with the addition of Beth Heard as an agent in its UK Creators division.

In her new role, Heard will focus on expanding UTA’s European roster of audio-endemic and digital-first talent, which includes the likes of Madeline Argy, RedHanded, Jampot Productions and Yung Filly. She’ll be based out of the agency’s London office.

Heard joins from Sixteenth, the London-based management agency that represents the UK’s leading thought leaders, change-makers and creators. She spent a little over three years there, most recently serving as Head of Talent. To date, she’s built the digital-first careers of some of the UK’s biggest creators, from booktuber Jack Edwards to the queen of UK true crime, Eleanor Neale. Heard’s career also includes six years of senior communications experience working predominantly in the health, beauty and wellness industries.

Dystopian novel Prophet Song by Irish author Paul Lynch has won the 2023 Booker Prize.

Set in Dublin, the story follows a family dealing with a terrifying new world in which democracy falls away.

The prestigious book award has previously been won by novels including The English Patient, The Remains Of The Day, Life Of Pi, The White Tiger, and Wolf Hall, all of which have been adapted into successful movies or TV series.

Chair of Judges, Esi Edugyan, described Prophet Song, which was the bookmakers’ favorite to win the prize, as “soul-shattering and true,” adding that readers “will not soon forget its warnings.”

Nairobi-born accountant-turned-debutant novelist Chetna Maroo, who is of Indian origin and a resident of London, was one of the six writers shortlisted for the prize, which, since 1969, has been awarded to the top writers of our times. Six of the awardees have been writers of Indian descent.

The glitterting award event on Sunday was hosted by British journalist and writer Samira Ahmed and broadcast live as a special episode of BBC Radio 4 Front Row.
