Official Trailer for 'Sanctioning Evil' About a Mission Against Civilians
Image
"We're not criminals, we're sanitation workers taking out the trash." Vertical Entertainment has revealed an official trailer for an indie action thriller titled Sanctioning Evil, from filmmaker Ante Novakovic. This has such a strange concept and all the synopses are extremely vague in actually describing what's going on. After being dishonorably discharged from the U.S. military, a Staff Sergeant finds his way back into society through a charismatic politician deploying a covert military operation to eliminate an underground criminal entity on U.S soil. So he's recruited to kill someone this politician doesn't like, but why? Which side is on? What's the message here, what exactly is it trying to say? This stars Tobias Truvillion, Zach McGowan, Taryn Manning, Ebony Jo-ann, Chris Tardio, Carrie Kim, Kyle Sharp, Tasha Lawrence, Kresh Novakovic, and James Biberi. This trailer only make everything a bit more confusing trying to decipher who's who and...

Drive (2011): First Seven (7) Minutes Movie Clip: Ryan Gosling
Drive First Seven Minutes. The first 7 minutes movie clip of Nicolas Winding Refn‘s Drive (2011) stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, and Christina Hendricks. Drive‘s plot synopsis: “A Hollywood stunt driver (Ryan Gosling) who usually keeps to himself and moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him by a local mob boss after a heist that goes wrong.”

We previously posted the Drive (2011) Red Band Movie Trailer and reviewed the film here: Film Review: Drive (2011).

On the first seven minutes of Drive:

This clip doesn’t get into the meat of the plot, but it does offer up a nice taste of Drive‘s considerable charms, including Gosling’s withdrawn lead performance, Bryan Cranston‘s turn as Gosling’s accomplice, the seedy Los Angeles setting, the ’80s-inflected soundtrack, and the delectably tense vibe. Oh, and of course, some actual stunt driving.

Film Review: Drive (2011): Nicolas Winding Refn, Ryan Gosling
Drive (2011) Film Review, a movie directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, Christina Hendricks, Oscar Isaac, Albert Brooks, Tina Huang, Joe Pingue, Cesar Garcia, James Biberi, Jeff Wolfe, Sarah Adela Tirado, Christian Cage, and Tiara Parker.

A minimalist film with Hollywood production attributes is almost an oxymoron. It is rare that they can co-exist together harmoniously but that unique situation is present in Drive.

The cinematography and palette in Drive are similar to Michael Mann’s Heat, except with Drive, during a few scenes, there is a elaborate and exquisite setup involved e.g. the stripper dressing room scene.

Though the scenes eventually explain themselves, there is no elaboration for what Driver (Ryan Gosling) wears. The yellow scorpion sigil on Driver’s white jacket is always a question, as most of the time, Driver wears it and it is prominently shown. It means something,...

Review: The Self Possession of "Drive"
There's 100,000 streets. You don't need to know the route."

The Driver is alone in a hotel room. Looking out over the city at night, negotiating on a cel phone he'll abandon immediately. We never learn his name. We don't need to know it.

His face is Ryan Gosling's, but even so it's a less familiar landscape than you'd think. With Drive, the actor erases any doubts (were there any?) that he's the most exciting young movie star on this side of the Atlantic. For the driver, his face has taken on a new mask-like stillness which twice in Nicolas Winding Refn's brilliant new movie, is covered (redundantly) by an actual mask. There is no knowing this driver; if we were given his name we'd forget it anyway or doubt its authenticity. Even the underscore, a brilliantly retro synth score, that memorably features Kavinksy's "Nightcall" just as we're being...

Drive (2011) | Review
Director: Nicolas Winding Refn Writers: Hossein Amini (screenplay), James Sallis (novel) Starring: Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks, Oscar Isaac, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman, Kaden Leos, James Biberi Still rivers run deep, or so the saying goes, and there are few anti-heroes -- especially in ultra-violent thrillers -- who remain as cool, calm and collected as the unnamed stunt driver and garage mechanic referred to only as Driver (Ryan Gosling). Eerily void of emotion, Driver utilizes his stoic composure to convey his toughness and intimidate others. Like several of Clint Eastwood's silver screen personas -- especially his collaborations with Sergio Leone -- Driver speaks sparingly yet bluntly. Outfitted in the same costume throughout the film -- a white bomber jacket with a yellow scorpion embroidered on the back -- Driver accessorizes with a toothpick in his mouth. (Have you heard the story about the scorpion and the frog?...

Drive (2011) Red Band Movie Trailer: Nicolas Winding Refn
Drive Red Band Trailer. Nicolas Winding Refn‘s Drive (2011) red band movie trailer stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, and Christina Hendricks. Drive‘s plot synopsis: “A Hollywood stunt driver (Ryan Gosling) who usually keeps to himself and moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him by a local mob boss after a heist that goes wrong.”

This looks like everything The Transporter isn’t: intense, serious with absolutely no cheese. Also glad producers have noticed Christina Hendricks and are using her more in their films.

Drive also stars Oscar Isaac, Albert Brooks, Tina Huang, Joe Pingue, Cesar Garcia, James Biberi, Jeff Wolfe, Sarah Adela Tirado, Christian Cage, and Tiara Parker.
