Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions has made a name out of turning everyday institutions into nightmare fuel — suburbia (Get Out), vacations (Us), blockbuster spectacle (Nope). Now, with Him, Peele and company aim their gaze at America’s true religion: football. Him takes the feel-good sports movie and slams it helmet-first into ritual sacrifice, cult vibes, and pure fever dream madness.
Helmed by genre newcomers, director and writer Justin Tipping (Kicks), and writers Skip Bronkie and Zack Akers (creators of the hit audio drama Limetown), Him takes the all-American sports movie and twists it into a fever dream of violence, obsession, and sacrifice.
The cast mixes familiar faces and left-field surprises:...

Jordan Peele’s fourth film as a director appears to be taking longer than expected.
Universal Pictures has unset the Oscar winner’s next project from its release calendar, which was last dated for October 2026. Peele is currently at work on the film, which has yet to roll cameras, an individual familiar with the project told Variety.
Originally, the follow-up to his 2022 hit movie “Nope” was scheduled to open over Christmas 2024; following the guild strikes, the film was then pushed to next Halloween. Universal had no comment. Reps for Peele did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
As per usual with Peele’s directorial efforts, nothing is known about the movie’s plot, though its been categorized as a horror thriller. But speaking on the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast in Jan. 2024, Peele said, “I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I...

Anna Faris is returning to the Scary Movie franchise, and she is bringing Regina Hall along for the ride. Turns out, the condition she put forward a few years ago has finally been fulfilled.
After passing up on the fifth film in the franchise, Faris has announced her return as the ditzy Cindy Campbell in the upcoming Scary Movie 6. Back in 2022, the actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of reprising the role in the future.

As a child, I was obsessed with the early films in the Scary Movie franchise. To me, they were funny and edgy and just scary enough to make me dart around the nearest piece of furniture to hide from an infamous horror villain. I liked that the movies made me feel clued in on all of the referential humor, like pop culture was something to participate in, not simply bear witness to.
Maybe those are some pretty esoteric thoughts for a 10-year-old, but it means that when Marlon Wayans announced that Regina Hall and Anna Faris were returning for Scary Movie 6 I didn’t go on a diatribe about “recycled IP” and “reboot hell” and “studios refusing to take a chance on original comedy.” Instead I just muttered, “Oh, hell yeah.”

Fans of the Scary Movie franchise can breathe a huge sigh of relief because two of the IP's biggest mainstays are returning for a few new scares and hell of a lot of laughs. Anna Faris and Regina Hall, who helped kick off the franchise in the 2000 film 25 years ago, are reuniting with the Wayans brothers for Scary Movie 6, the first time the pair has linked up with the iconic comedy brothers since 2001's Scary Movie 2.
Per Deadline, both Faris and Hall are returning to portray Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, respectively. Marlon Wayans confirmed the news on his Instagram page with a photo of the two actresses from Scary Movie and a simple caption that read, "SM6." For their part, both Faris and Hall released a statement following the news that read, "We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen,...

Twelve years have gone by since the release of a new entry in the Scary Movie horror parody series – but the franchise isn’t going to remain dormant for much longer. Last April, it was announced that the Miramax label at Paramount, which is now operating under new boss Jonathan Glickman, had given the greenlight to a new Scary Movie sequel, with the plan being to get the film into theatres sometime in 2025. Well, they weren’t able to get the film into production as quickly as they hoped, and earlier this year it was announced that Scary Movie 6 is scheduled to reach theatres on June 12, 2026. Now, we have the first official piece of casting news to report, as Deadline has confirmed that franchise stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall are officially coming back to play Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks!

Julia Fox is the latest guest star to join CBS’ police procedural “Elsbeth.” She will play a New York City “grief influencer” in the third season of the dramedy, a spinoff of “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight.”
Fox will play Raquel Drabowski, described by CBS as a “Staten Island widow who transformed herself into an upscale NYC ‘Grief Influencer’ and reality star on the hit dating series ‘Black Veil.'”
“Elsbeth” Season 3 premieres on Oct. 12. The show stars Carrie Preston as the de facto detective Elsbeth Tascioni. The majority of the show functions as a “howcatchem” mystery, rather than a “whodunit,” meaning the audience is usually privy to who the murderer is at the beginning of each episode. The series premiered in February 2024 and kicked off its second season just months after the first season finished airing.

For many fans and detractors of revered comedian and actor Eddie Murphy, Norbit remains the nadir of a decorated career nearly 20 years after its premiere. However, Murphy is defiant about his panned comedy, insisting he has "love" for the outlandish comedy despite widespread backlash.
Speaking with Complex, Murphy defended Norbit against constant critical shaming over the years, stating he's still fond of the movie amid its negative reception. According to the award-winning actor, Norbit's humor ensures it stands the test of time. “I like Norbit to this day,” Murphy said. “There’s stuff in Norbit that makes me laugh.” He added that he and his late brother, Charlie Murphy, who wrote the screenplay alongside him, "think Norbit is funny."
Despite Norbit being the second-worst-rated movie of Murphy's career (9% on Rotten Tomatoes), earning three Golden Raspberry Awards along the way, Murphy believes that most of the negative feedback was simply critics "hating" on him.

Greatness requires sacrifice. That is the mantra of Kicks director Justin Tipping's new sports horror flick Him, a twisted exploration of idolatry, fame, and the endless pursuit of excellence told through the lens of American football. Produced by Jordan Peele through his Monkeypaw Productions, it centers on a young, rising star quarterback played by Atlanta's Tyriq Withers, who's invited to train with his idol, a Tom Brady-like mythological figure with eight rings to his name brought to life by a surprisingly fearsome Marlon Wayans. The basic premise is just the surface of what terrifying realities lie underneath the superstar's world, and we're able to give everyone a sneak peek as part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event for fall movies. Our exclusive image has Wayans speaking with his young co-star as he arrives and preparing him for the endless, soul-destroying grind.

Jordan Peele is back in the producer’s chair with Him, a sports horror film that blends psychological unease with the brutal pursuit of greatness. Directed by Justin Tipping and written by Tipping alongside Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the film hits US cinemas on 19 September and UK screens on 3 October 2025. It features a dramatic turn from Marlon Wayans as a revered but increasingly unhinged former athlete.
Him centres on Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers), a young quarterback whose future is derailed by a violent attack just days before the NFL Combine. Isolated and desperate, Cam is offered salvation by his idol, Isaiah White (Wayans), a decorated football legend who invites him to train at his private compound. What begins as a second chance spirals into psychological torment, as Cam finds himself trapped under the influence of a man whose obsession with legacy blurs the line between inspiration and indoctrination.
