Star Trek: The Next Generation had a lot of great lines, but only a few truly live in our heads!
Star Trek, of course, was famous for its iconic lines like “Beam me up, Scotty,” “I’m a doctor, not a…” and “Live long and prosper.” It took a while for The Next Generation to connect with fans in the writing, yet it had its own share of great lines too.
Many came from the great speeches Picard would make which Patrick Stewart delivered with gravitas. There were also gems from other characters, like Worf’s toughness and Data's understanding of humanity. These are twenty quotes from The Next Generation that live on with its fans and why that series remains so loved.
Nov. 2, 2015 – CBS Television Studios announced today it will launch a totally new “Star Trek” television series in January 2017. The brand-new “Star Trek” will introduce new characters...

Has there ever been a more controversial year in cinema than 1971? It was the year that Ken Russell's "The Devils" caused outrage with its graphic sexuality and blasphemous imagery; elsewhere, Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" divided critics with its ugly violence upon making its debut in New York, while Ted Kotcheff's "Wake in Fright" turned stomachs with its grisly kangaroo hunt sequence. In the United States, the gloves were off after the Hays Code had given way to the more lenient MPAA ratings system in 1968, allowing filmmakers to explore challenging themes and show sex and violence in more explicit detail. Among the American movies that pushed these new boundaries were Don Siegel's "Dirty Harry" and Sam Peckinpah's "Straw Dogs," an intensely misanthropic psychodrama that became notorious for its depiction of sexual assault.
"Straw Dogs" was Peckinpah's first non-Western film, and it was an unusual hybrid,...

The Grid is back online — and this time, it’s coming for our world. Disney has just unveiled a jaw-dropping look at Tron: Ares, the highly anticipated sequel to Tron: Legacy, and it’s everything fans have been hoping for and more: red neon, slick vehicles, gravity-defying action, and a pulsating soundtrack that promises to rewire your brain. Directed by Joachim Rønning, the film marks a major evolution for the Tron franchise — one that brings Oscar-winner Jared Leto into the digital fold as the titular Ares, a rogue program with unclear (and likely sinister) motives. Also returning? The original Grid master himself, Jeff Bridges, reprising his iconic role as Kevin Flynn.
What Is 'Tron: Ares' About?
The biggest twist this time? The Grid isn’t confined to cyberspace anymore. Tron: Ares takes place after the events of Tron: Legacy, and will mark the first time that programs have made their way into the real world.

The Omen True Haunting Stories(Photo Credit –YouTube)
The Omen did not need much help to be terrifying on screen, but what happened off-screen told a different story, and it is one far more chilling. Before a single frame rolled, the shadow was already there, lurking around the production like it had something to prove. The film, which tells the story of a boy adopted by a diplomat who turns out to be the Antichrist, was drenched in death and disaster both in front of and behind the camera.
Lightning Strikes Multiple Planes Connected To The Omen
The string of bad luck and misfortune kicked off in 1975 with none other than the legendary late actor Gregory Peck. He boarded a plane to London, and during mid-flight, it was struck by lightning. One may consider it to be nothing more than a fluke, but then it struck the writer’s plane too.

New images from Disney's Tron: Areshave entered The Grid… the Instagram grid, that is. The snaps caused quite a stir on social media as they turned the spotlight on two of the film's major villainous characters, who threaten to be even more evil than Jared Leto's titular antagonist in the highly anticipated third installment of the groundbreaking Tron franchise. Marvel favorite Evan Peters and The X-Files leading lady Gillian Anderson both feature in the photos, offering a better look at their roles as Julian and Elisabeth Dillinger, respectively.
Fans of the Tron saga will recognize the Dillinger name. Ed Dillinger (David Warner) was the ruthless head of Encom in Disney's 1982 film, while his son, Ed Jr. (Cillian Murphy), made a cameo appearance in the 2010 sequel Tron: Legacy. Star Trek: IMAX is one of those ‘greatest movies never made’ type of projects that become legends in the fandom. Like J.J. Abrams’ Superman movie or George Miller’s take on Justice League, these projects are packed with potential and have so many elements that excite fans, but no one will ever know if they could have even pulled it off.
Paramount’s IMAX project with Star Trek actually came to a stage of fruition with a planned storyline also greenlit. It was set to be a crossover between the four big Star Trek shows, namely, Tos, Tng, DS9, and Voyager, in a cinematic experience like no other. However, the project never came to be.

The "Star Trek" property was cresting in popularity in 1997. Although "Star Trek: The Next Generation" had come to an end in 1994, the greater franchise had only just scored a big hit with "Star Trek: First Contact" in 1996. At the same time, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager" were humming along decently on TV, with the former hitting its stride and the latter having just introduced the ratings-saving character Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) onto the show. Irrespective of the medium, Batman’s rogues gallery has always been an integral part of his mythos, and has heavily contributed to his status as one of the most iconic fictional heroes in media. And among all the iterations, barring comics, Batman: The Animated Series is highly considered the blueprint for Gotham’s underbelly, including Ra’s al Ghul.
Although it’s hard to imagine anyone other than David Warner in the shoes of Ra’s in the revered series, prior to incorporating Warner in the role, legendary actor Sir Christopher Lee was initially in line to helm Ra’s voice.

"Batman: The Animated Series" was produced to capitalize on the success of the Tim Burton "Batman" films. Both the films and cartoon played big roles in bringing a darker Batman to the wider public, the kind that may not have bothered picking up a copy of Frank Miller's comic masterpiece "The Dark Knight Returns."
"Batman: The Animated Series" is widely considered to be the superlative take on the Dark Knight and his rogues gallery. It helps that the series starred several villains never before adapted out of the comics. The pilot episode, "On Leather Wings," featured Batman fighting the monstrous Man-Bat. A generation of kids grew up watching Raja Gosnell's 2002 live-action comedy flick "Scooby-Doo," an adaptation of Hanna-Barbera's long-running Scooby-Doo cartoon shows from the 1970s. In the film, Freddy, originally voiced by Frank Welker, was played by Freddie Prinze, Jr., and Shaggy, originally voiced by Casey Kasem, was played by Matthew Lillard. Prinze was squarely in the public eye after starring in hit films like "She's All That" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer," while Lillard was famous for his turns in "Hackers," "Scream," and "Slc Punk!" Lillard, incidentally, was also in "She's All That." Both actors were very much their generation's "It" boys, and the decade proved to be very lucrative for them both.
Well, "Wing Commander" notwithstanding.
"Wing Commander" is not well-remembered by too many people. It was based on a series of 1990s "Wing Commander" video games created by Chris Roberts, who also directed the film.

Following the taste we had at CinemaCon, Disney has just dropped a jaw-dropping first look at their upcoming sequel, Tron Ares, which brings back Jeff Bridges to the franchise as well as introducing the Academy Award-winner Jared Leto to the world. Echo On Publications has announced In the Mouth of Madness, a meta novelization of John Carpenter‘s cosmic horror film.
It follows John Trent, an insurance investigator hired to locate Cane himself after the author’s sudden disappearance. What begins as a missing person case quickly turns into something far more terrifying. Trent discovers that Cane’s stories may not just reflect reality, they may shape it.
Although credited to the fictitious Cane, the book is written by Echo On editor-in-chief Christian Francis, who has authored novelizations of Wishmaster, Session 9, and Vamp.
“In the Mouth of Madness is not just a book,” said Francis. “It’s an experience… a mix of sanity and delusion. It’s Cane at his most unhinged: darker, hungrier, and far more dangerous than anything he’s written before. And while we’re proud to publish it,...

There are a lot of characters in Star Trek. While plenty are dearly beloved, many others are loathed, despised, or simply forgotten. Sometimes, those sentiments are deserved. Sometimes, but not always. Here, we’ll explore some characters that deserve more attention or credit than they get.
Of course, it’s hard to determine what makes a character underrated. In some cases, it can be that the fans don’t rate or praise a character as highly as they deserve. Other times, it’s that the stories themselves underserve the characters in some way. Making these judgments is obviously subjective, but I will try to explain my rationale all the same.
Also, for this list, characters who were introduced in the current era of Star Trek (basically Discovery till now) will not be included. There are certainly underrated characters in these shows, but their newness means that the fandom’s estimation...

It is just about an immutable truth that Michael Caine is doing God-level work as Ebenezer Scrooge in "The Muppet Christmas Carol." The 1992 adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic is, partly because it arrived in theaters soon after the tragic and untimely passing of Muppet creator Jim Henson, a surprisingly straightforward take on the holiday story of a grouchy and rich old Londoner who gets a revival of the human spirit after experiencing ghostly visions. With Henson no longer in the mix, the Muppets themselves (especially those originally performed by the great man) take something of a back seat in the film.
Of course, if you are making an adaptation of "A Christmas Carol," focusing on the performer playing Scrooge does make pretty obvious sense. And Michael Caine, by that point an Oscar winner for his supporting work in Woody Allen's "Hannah and Her Sisters," seemed then and now...

Osgood Perkins isn’t necessarily known for his sense of humor, which is a little odd since he co-starred in “Legally Blonde,” a movie which isn’t particularly terrifying. Over the course of four ethereal, severe, haunting horror movies — most recently, last year’s acclaimed hit “Longlegs” — Perkins made a name for himself as one of the most dramatic filmmakers currently in the genre, tackling serious emotional burdens through the lens of the supernatural.
“The Monkey” is not one of those serious, dreary, though mostly brilliant films. It’s a wacky, fast-paced, mostly brilliant comedy. Even with it becoming cool to hate on the 1997 James Cameron drama, Titanic, it is still among Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio's best movies, and one of the most quoted romance movies of all-time. Nearly 30 years after the film was released, and over 110 years after the event it was based on, audiences on streaming still can't get enough of Jack and Rose's short-lived romance, as Titanic has gained a second life on streaming.
Titanic is currently the #1 movie on Hulu, according to the streamer's weekly ranking. The film should require very little introduction, as Jack and Rose's story of forbidden love on board the Rms Titanic has been quoted, parodied, and memed to death by fans and contrarian haters. For the uninitiated, and people who've been living under a rock for the last 20+ years, Titanic follows Jack, who wins a ticket on board the "unsinkable" Titanic in a poker match.

Grigori Rasputin is one of the most enigmatic historical figures to ever exist. Often referred to as "the mad monk" and categorized as everything from a mystic, faith healer, hypnotist, deviant, and unhinged sociopath, Rasputin has not only remained a point of interest for fans of history, but an iconic villain in the manufactured world of cinema. Often portrayed as a cunning and evil mastermind who undermines the Russian Imperial family through coercion, Rasputin's mythical reputation has a lore that has been well-established. So much so that separating fact from fiction sometimes becomes difficult.
In 1996, Rasputin was once again resurrected in what could be easily described as Alan Rickman's most exceptional performance. Rickman plays the titular character in Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny, a film made for HBO and directed by Uli Edel. Star Trek's Klingons stopped using a particular espionage tactic against the United Federation of Planets after Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Set in 2293, Star Trek VI ushered in a détente between the Klingon Empire and the Federation after the Klingon moon Praxis exploded. With the Empire on the brink of economic collapse, Klingon Chancellor Gorkon (David Warner) sued for peace with the Federation. Peace was ultimately achieved and lasted well into the 24th century Star Trek: The Next Generation era.

Spock from "Star Trek" is easily one of the most influential science-fiction characters ever, flat-out. Even actor Leonard Nimoy never escaped the Vulcan's shadow — despite having a long, fulfilling career outside of it. Indeed, before his passing in 2015, Nimoy voiced villains in two separate "Transformers" films.
In the 1986 animated "Transformers" film, Nimoy played Galvatron, the reborn form of Decepticon leader Megatron, galvanized by the power of the dark god Unicron. Later, in Michael Bay's 2011 live-action film, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," Nimoy voiced Sentinel Prime, mentor of Autobot leader Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen). Starting a "Transformers" tradition, Sentinel turned out to be a villain, allying himself with the Decepticons to conquer Earth and restore the Transformers' war-ruined world of Cybertron.
Aside from his two voiceover roles, Nimoy impacted "Transformers" in another important way via Spock. Marvel Comics writer Bob Budiansky, who wrote the original "Transformers" character bios and much of the proceeding comic,...

What's the best superhero TV show? Satirical gorefest "The Boys" has been a smash hit, and in 2024, Marvel Studios released one of its best projects ever with "X-Men '97." But for a lot of other geeks, the answer to this question is still one of the classics.

B-Movies get a lot of criticism, and most of the time, it's well-deserved. While their measly budgets and low quality are sometimes quite charming, these movies often flop because they fail to stick to a substantial plot. Yet, these movies also get a lot of traction from die-hard film buffs.
While Hollywood continues to follow the same tropes and reuse the same set of actors time and time again, B Movies offers fans something very different. As such, B-Movies have a collection of loyal fans, making them successful in their own right. While The Twilight Zone remains the most iconic anthology series of all time, the best Tales from the Crypt episodes stand up well with a very different feeling. Unlike the original anthology series, which focused on morality tales and a look at horrific stories, Tales from the Crypt told its horror tales with a wink and a grin. The main focus of the series, opened each episode by the Crypt Keeper, was to deliver horrific, demonic, and disturbing tales, but always with a look at making horror fans smile with a mix of humor and irony in each episode.

Although it is more common for movie stars to voice act in animated films, there are several animated TV shows that feature A-list actors among their cast. These shows can include Western cartoons, but also anime as well. In fact, some of the best anime series of all time have incredible voice acting performances and include talented actors among their casts.
Some cartoons are known for their funny characters, creating memorable stories that are meant to make people laugh. Other cartoons are based on violent movies, somehow transforming their narratives into something suitable for children to watch. Regardless, the addition of popular actors to any project brings a certain amount of notoriety to any project, animated or live-action.

Kirk (William Shatner) and Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy were framed for the assassination of Klingon High Chancellor Gorkon (David Warner) by a conspiracy. Kirk and Bones were sentenced to the Klingon prison planet Rura Penthe, where they were to be murdered. The Starfleet heroes encountered a menagerie of aliens at Rura Penthe, including a shapeshifting Chameloid named Martia (Iman...

Honestly, it's amazing that the original "Star Trek" cast managed to do six movies together. The Enterprise crew were already middle-aged when they first reassembled in 1979 for "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." Then the 1982 sequel "The Wrath of Khan" made it text that Captain Kirk didn't feel as young as he used to. Yet they all kept returning for nine more years.
They didn't quite make it to "Star Trek Xii: So Very Tired," but they got halfway there. "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" was definitely not the ending of all "Trek," but it was for the original cast. It was conceived that way, hence the ending where the Enterprise is set for decommission and Jim Kirk, in his final captain's log, says it's time for the next generation to have its moment in the sun.
Since making this film capped off a journey that began in 1966, the cast did a special commemoration.

Conceived by Barbara Pyle and media mogul Ted Turner, Captain Planet was an ecological hero way ahead of his time. The animated series ran for years with some nifty design work by Neal Adams and his Continuity Associates. Each episode featured an adventure and a lesson (of course). It endeared itself to a generation of viewers and remained an enduring figure from the 1990s.
Now, Warner Home Entertainment has released Captain Planet the Complete Franchise, with 41 hours and 31 minutes of environmental goodness. For silly legal reasons, the show has two titles evenly split among its six seasons: Captain Planet and the Planeteers (animated by Dic) and The New Adventures of Captain Planet (animated by Hanna-Barbera) for the final three seasons.
Gaia, the spirit of Earth, was voiced by Whoopi Goldberg, who set the tone and standard for the entire series. She was accompanied by a voice cast that included Margot Kidder...

Growing up, trying to find our way in the world, and making sense of changes can be a difficult and even frightening experience. The awkward uncertainty during the informative years had long found ties with the horror genre as a way to interpret real-life struggles. Combining the two genres has undoubtedly proven to be a successful pairing. From the gruesome Teeth (2007) to the often-celebrated The Craft (1996), coming-of-age horror movies have become fan favorites.
Yet one dark take on the coming-of-age genre is often touted as the best: John Fawcett's Ginger Snaps. Combining lycanthropic terrors with navigating the informative years certainly proved to be an insightful take on the genre, but there is one movie that did the same thing decades before. The Company of Wolves (1984) is often overlooked, but it is on par with Ginger Snaps and shares enough similarities that fans should be howling at the chance to...

Quick Links Wes Craven's Spine-Tingling Horror Icon David Warner Almost Starred as the Legendary Villain Robert Englund Scares Up Some Movie Magic
The metal-clawed, heavily disfigured child killer Freddy Krueger became a pop culture icon and legendary horror villain when he first made his spectacular debut in Wes Craven's 1984 masterpiece A Nightmare on Elm Street. The unforgettable antagonist was gloriously portrayed by Robert Englund in eight spine-tingling installments in the chilling franchise and was created by a master of horror himself, Wes Craven.
While moviegoers everywhere have come to know and love Englund as the demented Krueger, he was not actually the trailblazing filmmaker's first choice to star as the undead murderer who stalks his victims in their dreams. English stage and screen star David Warner was originally chosen to tackle the hefty role, but in an unfortunate turn of events, was forced to walk away from the project,...

Most Trekkies know that Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) kept a pet lionfish in a globe-shaped aquarium in his ready room. Only deep-cut Trekkies know, however, that the fish was named Livingston. Some have assumed it was named after Harold Livingston, the screenwriter of "Star Trek: The Motion Picture," but the fish could also have been named after the Scottish football team, for all we know. No information has been given about Livingston the lionfish.
Indeed, no one knows if the fish was Picard's personal pet, or if lionfish were merely standard-issue in-office animals in Starfleet. It seems likely it was the former, as the latter seems too exploitative for the life-respecting Federation; no 24th-century bureaucracy would wrangle thousands of fish merely to install them as background critters in captains' ready-rooms.
In the episode "Chain of Command, Part I", Captain Picard was transferred off the U.S.S. Enterprise-d and replaced...
