Spotted inside the Peter B. Lewis Theater were Arne Glimcher of Pace, producer of Simon Trevor's campaign against ivory poaching in White Gold, Hamish Bowles, International editor-at-large for American Vogue, Marina Abramovic, and fashion photographers Vinoodh Matadin and Inez van Lamsweerde. Lisa Immordino Vreeland thanked all involved in the making of the film, including producers Stanley Buchthal, David Koh, Dan Braun, Josh Braun and Peggy Guggenheim biographer Jacqueline B. Weld.

On October 4, the morning before the world premiere of Steven Spielberg's Bridge Of Spies, starring Tom Hanks, Amy Ryan, Alan Alda, Mark Rylance, Billy Magnussen and Eve Hewson (Bono and Ali's daughter), during the New York Film Festival, the Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Maysles family will host a tribute to Albert Maysles.

Filmmakers Morgan Neville, Fabien Constant, Varon Bonicos and Guy Maddin, together with Gay Talese and Frédéric Boyer, sent a tribute when they heard the news about Albert's passing on March 5.

Documentary filmmakers Morgan Neville (2014 Oscar winner for 20 Feet From Stardom), Fabien Constant (Mademoiselle C), Varon Bonicos (A Man's Story) and Keyhole director Guy Maddin share their thoughts on the passing of the great documentarian Albert Maysles at the age of 88, Thursday, March 5, in New York City.

Author and journalist Gay Talese on an American Assignment for the New York Times in Selma, Alabama, sent a note, upon hearing the news, from the place where Gay had covered the civil rights march and "Bloody Sunday" 50 years ago.

His documentary on the organised poaching of elephant tusks, narrated by former Us Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, puts an end to fantasies of glamour and harmless luxury based on ignorance and lies.

Two days later, on November 14, 2013, a six-ton stockpile of seized ivory was crushed by the Us Fish and Wildlife Service in an effort to bring forth a worldwide trade ban in ivory.

White Gold is the first film produced by the African Environmental Film Foundation for international distribution. Jackie Chan replaces Hillary Rodham Clinton as the narrator for the Mandarin-speaking Chinese audiences.
