Power Book II: Ghost actress Alix Lapri went viral on social media, with a mugshot of her attached to the news of her arrest. It was reported that she was arrested on charges of child cruelty and disorderly conduct in DeKalb County, Georgia, on August 18. However, the date of the incident has cast serious doubt on the claims.
Alix Lapri, real name Alexus Geier, became popular for her role as Effie Morales in the Starz show Power and its direct sequel show, Ghost. Her alleged arrest report was uploaded to a website called The Georgia Gazette. The news subsequently appeared on many social media pages.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for And Just Like That Season 3, episode 12, "Party Of One"
In the series finale of And Just Like That, the Sex and the City characters conclude the story without crossing over, which is a departure from the ending of the original series. Ahead of the last few episodes of the revival, showrunner Michael Patrick King announced that And Just Like That was ending after season 3.
Sarah Jessica Parker, an executive producer for the original show and its revival, who plays Carrie Bradshaw in both series, commented on the decision to end the chapter with the Sex and the City's characters spending Thanksgiving apart. Parker’s comments to Vanity Fair reveal that the women are closer than ever, and their season 3 story still honors that:

Warning! Spoilers For And Just Like That's Series Finale - "Party of One"
There’s a reason that And Just Like That didn’t bring back a divisive character for its finale, even though Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) had the perfect opportunity to return. Sex and the City’s revival show aired its final episode on August 14, after the announcement that And Just Like That was ending after three seasons.
Despite Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) appearing at a pet clinic that looks identical to the one that her partner worked at in And Just Like That season 2, Ramírez didn’t return. Showrunner Michael Patrick King explained the decision to Vanity Fair, revealing that the veterinarian Miranda and Joy (Dolly Wells) visit isn’t the same one that Che worked for:

I started watching Sex and the City in college. On Sunday nights, I’d walk over to my friend Anna’s room in our small Midwestern liberal arts college. I’d sit on the cheaply carpeted floor, our friend Kate on the bed. We’d drink beer or Fresca, eat bags of Doritos and greasy cafeteria pizza. We screamed about the Post-it note breakup. The $485 shoes stolen at the baby shower. Sex swings and dildos and gorgeous, gorgeous clothes.

Spoilers for "Party of One," the series finale of "And Just Like That..." follow, insofar as a show like this can even be spoiled.
The series finales of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Game of Thrones" can officially step aside. There's a new winner of the "worst series finale" award, and it belongs firmly to "Party of One," the last episode of the "Sex and the City" revival and sequel, titled "And Just Like That..." Indeed, to say this episode is a huge, steaming pile of crap is an understatement. Beyond that, in the last 34 minutes of this interminable, consistently illogical, and often downright awful series, it betrays literally everything that "Sex and the City" once proudly represented.
I've already talked at length right here at /Film about how "And Just Like That..." absolutely sucks and why it flat-out fails, on every conceivable level, to live up to the...

And just like that … we don’t have “And Just Like That” to kick around any longer. The HBO Max reboot we all loved to hate but couldn’t stop watching ended Thursday with its Season 3 finale, “Party of One,” written by showrunner Michael Patrick King and Susan Fales-Hill, a half hour of television that feels very hard to believe was conceived as the final word on its legacy-brand mothership “Sex and the City,” though the announcement of this chapter’s end implied that all parties involved were on board with concluding the story here.
While it had some nice final moments that almost lived up to the franchise’s significance, the rest was a hodgepodge of filler — a wayward group of annoying Gen Z-ers, way too much Victor Garber (something I don’t say lightly) and way too many bathroom hijinks.

And just like that…it ended on a turd.
Literally. The series finale of HBO Max’s dramedy And Just Like That — the oft-gloomy, obsequiously apologetic sequel series to iconic millennium rom-com Sex and the City — climaxes with fully formed fecal cylinders exploding out of an overflowing toilet. So much for bowing out with dignity.
Episode 12 barely mustered enough energy to close out the current season, let alone the three-season series in full. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) hosts Thanksgiving in her newly purchased apartment, only for half the guests to ghost the proceedings. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), who was expecting all her close friends and loved ones to join, is left to entertain several tedious characters she (and we) barely know. There’s Miranda’s listless adult son Brady (Niall Cunningham), who got more screen time and plotlines when he was an infant on Satc, and some rich bore played by Victor Garber,...

This is how the world of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) ends: not with a bang, but with a geyser of human feces.
Technically, the last we see of TV’s most iconic antiheroine is Carrie strutting through her gargantuan Gramercy home while blasting Barry White. She’s just embraced the idea, via the epilogue to her historical novel-in-progress, of being not “alone” but “on her own.” It’s an apt exit for a character who, between boyfriends, helped glamorize the idea of liberated singeldom for a generation of viewers. But for “And Just Like That,” the sequel series to “Sex and the City” that concluded its three-season run on Aug. 14, the most indelible, on-brand image from “Party of One” came a couple scenes earlier: Carrie, her...

New York’s ultimate single woman is single once more — and, at last, she’s at peace with it.
The series finale of “And Just Like That” — the revival series following “Sex and the City” and the two theatrical sequel films — brought Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) in for a soft landing. After a challenging and awkward Thanksgiving dinner, during which Charlotte (Kristin Davis) tried to set her single friend up with the pompous gallerist Mark Kasabian (Victor Garber), Carrie returns home. (She’s only spared further interaction with Mark thanks to a well-timed toilet explosion dousing his shoes in excrement.)

“And Just Like That…” Carrie Bradshaw’s latest saga ended exactly as showrunner Michael Patrick King intended: With a bold statement about being alone and lots of life left to live.
Episode 12, titled “Party of One,” followed as Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) grappled with the possibility of spending the rest of her life alone. It’s an existential quandary most people face in their lifetime, regardless of age, and one that carries extra weight coming from television’s signature love expert for the past 27 years. After losing one love of her life at the start of the “Sex and the City” spinoff series and letting go of another near the end of its run, Carrie spent the final moments of the series finale celebrating herself — as the people in her life enjoyed their own joyful respite from life...

[Editor’s note: The following review contains spoilers for “And Just Like That” Season 3, Episode 12, “Party of One” — the series finale.]
As just another episode of “And Just Like That,” the Season 3 finale is fine.
Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), following an embarrassing encounter at a “solo” lunch with a stuffed dining companion, confronts her paralyzing fears over aging alone and comes out the other end dancing. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) hosts a gut-wrenching Thanksgiving dinner, but still somehow inches her relationship forward with Joy (Dolly Wells). Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) recommit to their freshly devastated, suddenly rejuvenated husbands, while Seema (Sarita Choudhary) concedes one more personal preference to continue her love affair with the grungy gardener, Adam (Logan Marshall-Green).
Yes, I’m omitting a lot, and yes, we’re going to (roto-)root out those droppings shortly, but judged purely as another episode of “And Just Like That,” Episode 12 is par for the course — minor triumphs,...

You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. And what we had in the “Sex and the City” sequel series “And Just Like That,” which ends this week after three seasons, was a cringey, sweet, tone-deaf, moving, off-putting, captivating snapshot of its iconic characters’ late middle age. Whether in horror, delight or some mixture of the two, I watched every episode rapt. Most people I know had the same experience, saying as much on social media and in group chats. Now the ride is over, and the audience’s final collective response is one of mourning — like the old joke about terrible food and small portions, but sincere.
Perhaps this is because “And Just Like That” seemed finally, maybe, to be hitting its stride. When it began, the show felt like two concepts at war with each other: one an organic progression through time, the other an effortful,...

Although Leonardo DiCaprio is beloved by many for playing Jack Dawson in 1997’s Titanic, he regrets passing up on the role of Dirk Diggler that year.

It’s the end of the road for “And Just Like That.”
The “Sex and the City” sequel series will end with its third season, which is currently rolling out on HBO Max, showrunner Michael Patrick King announced on social media on Friday. He said the decision was made in conjunction with star Sarah Jessica Parker, HBO and HBO Max boss Casey Bloys and HBO Max content head Sarah Aubrey as he wrote the ending of Season 3, which led to a two-episode extension to wrap up storylines appropriately.
“Sjp and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” he said in a statement. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

The Dcu is in full-swing thanks to Superman hitting theaters this summer, and DC Studios looks to ride that momentum with a long-awaited series. Expected to debut in early 2026, HBO's Lanterns has reportedly wrapped production. The show follows John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) as a pair of space cops investigating a mystery, but it will also introduce perhaps the most iconic Green Lantern villain of all time.
Lanterns star Ulrich Thomsen took to social media to share an image of himself with his mustache half-shaved, seemingly teasing his transformation as Sinestro. The Green Lantern villain will make his Dcu debut in the HBO series in 2026, but the actor teases a bright future is ahead for the character. His caption reads,"Bye for now [Sinestro] – I'll keep one side for later. Hope too see you again." It seems he has wrapped filming his scenes as Sinestro, which coincides...

The writers and executives producers of “And Just Like That…” Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky were not exactly expecting the audience reaction when Lisa Todd Wexley’s (Nicole Ari Parker) father died… for seemingly the second time. After all in the first season, Lisa literally said, “I was exactly the same when my father died last year.” In the current season, years later, her father (Billy Dee Williams) died again, and she attended the funeral. HBO quickly explained this time her real father died and before it was her stepfather, and Rottenberg and Zuritsky told THR that it was a sign of just how lower the viewers are.
“That was surprising to me,” Zuritsky said. “It’s the close viewing, but that comes back to the relationship that people have with the show.”
“You want close viewers,” Rottenberg added. “We know our viewers are smart and paying attention, and you want that.

Trawling through TikTok last week, I came across a scathing review of a recent episode of And Just Like That.
A user named Sabrina Bendory had picked up over half a million views on a video in which she was dissecting bizarre plot choices for characters old and new in HBO’s revival series of Sex and the City. “Miranda Benjamin Button-ed herself back into a 5-year-old,” she said of Cynthia Nixon’s child-like performance in season three, episode seven. “Balloons!” Miranda exclaims while setting up for Charlotte’s birthday party. “And they’re pink!”
Bendory asked: “Who is this person?”

As many suspected, it sounds as if the Dcu's premiere Green Lantern will be Aaron Pierre's John Stewart, at least by the end of the upcoming HBO superhero drama, Lanterns.
Speaking to CBS Morning, Dcu co-chair James Gunn confirmed that Stewart is the focal point of the story, despite other Green Lanterns being featured.
"We go into Supergirl and Lanterns next summer...It's basically John Stewart's story in a lot of ways, but with those other characters," said Gunn, referencing Guy Gardner and Hal Jordan.

For those who’ve watched And Just Like That since the very first episode, you probably did a double take when Lisa Todd Wexley’s (Nicole Ari Parker) father died in the July 3 episode… because he already died, right? Viewers immediately recalled Ltw talking about her dad’s death when Big (Chris Noth) died in the first season. While fans took to social media to call out what they thought was a continuity “mistake” made by the writers, the And Just Like That production team revealed that’s not the case whatsoever. There’s a simple explanation — and Lisa Todd’s dad definitely didn’t die twice. The team told The Hollywood Reporter that the deceased father Lisa Todd was talking about in Season 1 was her stepfather. “I was exactly the same when my father died last year,” Lisa told Charlotte (Kristin Davis) in the first season. Her biological father,...

Did And Just Like That… accidentally kill off the same character twice?
That’s what fans were wondering after the Max comedy’s July 3 episode, in which Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker) lost her 90-year-old father to a stroke. It was an emotional hour, as Lisa struggled through a difficult eulogy at the Pippin-themed funeral — but it was also a familiar one, as this apparently isn’t the first time Lisa has had to say goodbye to her father.

HBO’s revival series And Just Like That has continued to hold on to a loyal fan base, mostly composed of die-hard Sex and the City fans.
The sequel show is currently airing its third season with original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis returning as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York-Goldenblatt, respectively, to the streets of New York. This time around, we see the women tackle life, love and friendship from the perspective of their 50s — though Kim Cattrall has declined to return as the iconic Samantha Jones.
Without Cattrall, Satc boss Michael Patrick King made the decision to welcome some newcomers into the fold, with Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) introduced to fill the Samantha-shaped hole.

“And Just Like That … ” accidentally killed off Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker)’s father not once but twice, and fans did not let the producers up on it.

This post contains spoilers from And Just Like That season 3 episode 6 from this point forward.
If you're an And Just Like That viewer who has caught up on the most recent episodes of season 3 and have been on the internet recently, then you're fully aware of the awkward, if not humorous, snafu the series has made. A character who was already six feet under was seemingly brought back from the dead just to be killed off again. Yes, this really happened.
And Just Like That season 3 episode 6 sees Lisa grieving her 90-year-old father's death from a fatal stroke. She spends much of the episode not only experiencing the grief of not having a chance to say goodbye but sparring with his girlfriend, played by Jenifer Lewis, over the funeral arrangements. In the end, Lisa doesn't get her way, but that's not what everyone's talking about.

DC Studios' approach to Lanterns has been interesting, to say the least. While it's hard to fault the decision to make John Stewart the Dcu's main Green Lantern, casting a 59-year-old Hal Jordan (and a 54-year-old Guy Gardner) wasn't something anyone saw coming.
Still, it means those characters have a built-in history in the Dcu, and Nexus Point News has today confirmed that Hal's past will be explored in the upcoming HBO Max TV series.
Lanterns has already cast younger and older versions of John's parents, as well as a child version of the character and his brother. That's led to speculation about a flashback episode for the hero, and the same may be in the works for Hal as his parents, Martin and Jessica Jordan, are also being cast.
According to the site, "Martin is described as handsome, confident, charming, but hides a deep sadness. Similar to the comics,...

Earlier reports about Lanterns being grounded may have been misconstrued by fans.
Recently, James Gunn tried to clarify those comments, and now, James Hawes, who directed the Lanterns pilot, is doing the same.
Hawes recently spoke to Phase Hero about the release of The Amateur but also touched on his work on the Dcu's upcoming Green Lantern drama.
"The scripts have so much with, so much character, it's a buddy cop movie, played out in a True Detective, Fargo, No Country For Old Men naturalistic [way] and then somebody flies," exclaimed the British television director.
Addressing previous reports and comments about the series being grounded and the assumption that everything is set on Earth, Hawes stated, "I'm going to talk very obliquely about this because there are excitements to come," teased Hawes.
"It won't disappoint the classic fans. I think it will invite in a whole new audience as well, " Hawes said.

The highly anticipated HBO series Lanterns is set to be a cosmic cornerstone of James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe (Dcu), offering a fresh, grounded take on the iconic Green Lantern mythology.
Unlike previous adaptations, this series is described as a detective story with a gritty, True Detective-esque tone. It will follow two legendary Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and John Stewart, as they unravel a dark, Earth-bound mystery.
The plot centers on a seemingly isolated murder in the American heartland, specifically Nebraska. This local crime will draw the veteran Green Lantern Corps member Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and his new recruit, John Stewart (Aaron Pierre), into deeper, more sinister revelations.
The series, consisting of eight episodes, promises to connect this Earth-based investigation to the larger narrative of the Dcu's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
In a recent interview, actor J. Alphonse Nicholson, who portrays John Stewart's father in the upcoming space drama,...

I'm no stranger to bad TV shows. I once wrote a whole screed right here at /Film about how Netflix's "Emily in Paris" (a show with a sneaky connection to "Sex and the City" in its original form) can barely even be called a television show, because there are no stakes and nothing ever happens and it contains zero narrative structure whatsoever. I even once penned an ode to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw, the heroine of "Sex and the City" and its reboot "...And Just Like That," and by "ode," I mean I called her an irredeemable sociopath. (I also unashamedly love "Vanderpump Rules." I think it's one of the best television shows of all time. Fight me!) For better and definitely for worse, I am somewhat of an expert on television that makes me want to use bleach-infused eyedrops or throw my television out of a fifth-floor window.

This post contains spoilers from And Just Like That season 3 episode 2.
Whenever a new season of And Just Like That premieres on HBO Max, the popular joke on social media is that it's the "worst" show on television. It might not be as good as its predecessor, but calling it across-the-board bad, even while still enjoying the mindless entertainment, is a little dramatic. The show has its strengths... and its faults.
Even though the third season has only aired two episodes, it's becoming increasingly clear that there's very little vision in place for Charlotte (Kristin Davis). Sex and the City never had this issue with the character, always knowing where to go with her development. And Just Like That has been treading water with Charlotte and her funny but benign sitcom side quests.
And Just Like That doesn't know what to do with Charlotte
In season 3 episode 2, Charlotte completely moves...
