The film focuses on the 19 days of the war and Meir's defense of her homeland, despite doubts from those around her. With an impressive cast and directed by Guy Nattiv, "Golda" is a highly anticipated film, distributed by Bleeker Street. Mirren's versatile career and previous portrayal of real-life personalities make her a perfect fit for this role.

Helen Mirren will amaze the world once again with her acting skills in Golda, the upcoming biopic from Israelite director Guy Nattiv, set during the Yom Kippur War. The movie was presented back in February at the Berlin Film Festival, and now while anticipating its theatrical release on August 25, the first trailer is finally out:

Helen Mirren Plays Courageous Golda Meir in ‘Golda’ Biopic Trailer
Image
Helen Mirren is transformed into blunt, stubborn Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in the official trailer for Golda, director Guy Nattiv’s ticking-clock thriller recalling true events set during the tense Yom Kippur War in 1973.

Faced with Israel’s possible destruction, Meir engages in diplomatic brinkmanship with U.S. secretary of state Henry Kissinger, played by Liev Schreiber, in the feature from Bleecker Street and ShivHans Pictures set to hit theaters on Aug. 25.

“Remember I am first an American, second I am secretary of state and third I am a Jew,” a wary Kissinger tells Israel’s only female leader at one point in the teaser trailer that dropped on Tuesday.

“You forget in Israel we read from right to left,” Meir responds.

Golda had its world premiere in Berlin as it portrays the only woman in the Israeli cabinet becoming a surprisingly effective military leader after her country faced...

‘Doom: Annihilation’ Review
Stars: Amy Manson, Nina Bergman, Kate Nichols, Louis Mandylor, Gina Philips, Jemma Moore, Lorina Kamburova, Katrina Nare, Dominic Mafham, Luke Allen-Gale, Amer Chadha-Patel, Hari Dhillon, Chidi Ajufo, James Weber Brown, Clayton Adams | Written and Directed by Tony Giglio

In case you’re wondering, before I start this review let me say, this Is Doom… All the aspects of the classic iD Software title are present and correct: from the transporting gates to the coloured keycards, from the weapons to the set/level design (with a brilliant nod to the intermission screen from the first game early on in the film), it’s all here in what can only be described as one of the most faithful video game adaptations to have ever been produced… Though there has been one liberty taken with the Doom franchise – this films “Doom guy” is actually a Doom girl, in the form of actress Amy...

New teaser for forthcoming ‘Doom: Annihilation’
Universal have released a brand new trailer for its upcoming franchise reboot Doom: Annihilation, which is based upon the iconic Doom video game series (as was the original movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and comes from Universal’s Dtv arm, Universal 1440 Entertainment, who were responsible for bringing us the many, many Scorpion King sequels, the Fantastic Death Race Dtv prequel franchise.

This time round the cast includes Amy Manson, Luke Allen-Gale, Dominic Mafham and Nina Bergman and the film is directed by one of my favourite filmmakers, Tony Giglio, who previously directed the superb slasher Timber Falls and the “as good as The Raid and Dredd” (at least Imho) actioner Extraction; and who also penned a couple of the Death Race sequels.

This isn’t a big-budget Doom movie being released in theaters. This is going straight to home entertainment release, but it still looks like it’ll be a fun flick to watch! Here’s the synopsis:

Considered to be mankind’s greatest discovery, it’s actually a gateway from hell, unleashing a swarm of demons looking to steal the souls of everyone who gets in their way. It’s up to Lieutenant Joan Dark and an elite unit of Marines to destroy an ever-growing horde of bloodsucking...

Daisy Ridley Takes the Lead as Ophelia in Thrilling Reimagining of William Shakespeare's Hamlet
Daisy Ridley
Daisy Ridley and Naomi Watts are putting a spin on William Shakespeare’s classic Hamlet.

In a new trailer for Ophelia, the two stars battle it out over a throne and the love of one man, Prince Hamlet. While the story is usually told through the eyes of Hamlet (in this instance portrayed by George MacKay), the tale comes from the perspective of his bride-to-be, Ophelia (Ridley).

As Ophelia is taken under the wing of Hamlet’s mother, Gertrude (Watts), she catches the prince’s eye even as he loses his grip on his psyche, turning toward vengeance after his...

New Us Trailer for 'Ophelia' Film Starring Daisy Ridley & Naomi Watts
"These are strange times in this castle." IFC Films has finally unveiled an official trailer for the indie drama Ophelia, a fantasy period piece drama based on Shakespeare's Hamlet. It's a re-imagining or retelling of the story from the perspective of Ophelia, Hamlet's secret lover who ends up killing herself in the original play. This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018, and an early promo trailer snuck out last year (but got pulled quickly), now they're finally opening it in theaters in June more than a year later. This film is just as imaginative and unique and has all the same intense drama in the play, but it's a big bloated mess that doesn't really work as well as it should. Ophelia stars Daisy Ridley, with an ensemble cast including Naomi Watts, George McKay, Clive Owen, Tom Felton, Daisy Head, Sebastian De Souza, Devon Terrell, Dominic Mafham, and Anna Rust.

Short Teaser Trailer for the 'Doom: Annihilation' Movie Headed to VOD
"What is going on??" "They opened up a portal to Hell!" Universal 1440 Entertainment has just debuted the first brief teaser trailer Doom: Annihilation, another new live-action Doom movie arriving some 14 years after the original attempt at adapting the classic video game. This one is heading straight-to-vod, skipping theaters entirely, but has a major producer behind it (Lorenzo di Bonaventura of the Transformers series) and doesn't look that cheap. Described as an "intense action-packed" thriller, the sci-fi action horror movie is about a group of space marines who land on a Martian moon, but "discover it's been overrun by demonic creatures who threaten to create Hell on Earth." Of course. Starring Amy Manson, Dominic Mafham, Luke Allen-Gale, Hari Dhillon, Jemma Moore, and Nina Bergman. There isn't much footage so far, but it does look pretty cool. Some big guns, some cool sets, might not turn out too bad. I'd like to see more.

Doom: Annihilation Trailer Opens A Portal to Hell
The first trailer for Universal 1440 Entertainment's Doom: Annihilation is here and it's not a game anymore. We were just recently treated to the official title, along with some images and the synopsis, so the trailer release isn't too much of a surprise. With that being said, we're looking at movie that is much different than 2005's Doom, which starred Dwayne Johnson and was a complete flop at the box office. Instead, we're going back to the original 1993 game's roots, which should have some fans of the franchise pretty excited for the upcoming release.

Director Tony Giglio wanted to take a step away from the 2005 adaptation to make Doom: Annihilation a bit more "artful." However, there will still be a first-person shooter aspect to the movie like the first adaptation, thanks to the "heads up display" on the team's visors, which the director says is an homage to the original game.

A Portal to Hell Is Opened in Teaser Trailer for Doom: Annihilation
Well, that was fast! Earlier this morning we shared some first look photos from the upcoming new Doom film, Doom: Annihilation. Now Universal Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for you to watch, and it actually looks like it will be kinda fun.

This film didn’t get the epic big-budget treatment, but there are aspects of the trailer that I like, like that big-ass gun and crazy creatures. It’s also said to be an "intense action-packed" movie. This is only a 30-second teaser, but I’m looking forward to seeing more.

Doom: Annihilation follows a group of space marines as they respond to a distress call from a base on a Martian moon, only to discover it’s been overrun by demonic creatures who threaten to create Hell on Earth.

The “space marines” have been confirmed to be the Uac marines, who are the same team from the video game franchise.

Doom - Die Vernichtung (2019)
First ‘Doom: Annihilation’ Trailer Introduces New Trip Through ‘Hell’
Doom - Die Vernichtung (2019)
The first trailer for “Doom: Annihilation,” the latest live-action adaptation of the popular first-person shooter, is out in the wild.

An NBC/Universal spokesperson told Variety the new “Doom” is being handled by Universal 1440 Entertainment, which produces live-action and animated non-theatrical productions directly for distribution in all media worldwide. That means the film may be direct-to-dvd, or it could possibly appear on a digital platform like Netflix. Universal 1440’s other projects currently include the latest “Tremors” movie, a “Death Race” sequel, and an adaptation of Bruce Coville’s sci-fi classic “Aliens Ate My Homework.”

Bloody Disgusting reports that the upcoming film, written and directed by Tony Giglio, stars Amy Manson (“Atlantis”), Dominic Mafham (“Ophelia”), Luke Allen-Gale (“Dominion”), and Nina Bergman (“The Car: Road to Revenge”) with Lorenzo di Bonaventura of “Transformers” producing. “Animal Kingdom’s” John Wells is also on board as executive producer.

The film appears to follow...

Doom: Annihilation Trailer Teases More Demonic Action
After 2005’s Doom bombed hard at the box office, the video game franchise has largely stayed away from the medium of film, but if Resident Evil can yield at least six commercially successful features, then there’s no reason to think that its fellow action-horror property doesn’t have at least one profitable movie in it.

Enter Doom: Annihilation, which has set itself the more modest goal of a direct-to-video release, and is headed for small screens some time in the fall. To tease the Aliens-style action that’s in store, Bloody Disgusting has premiered a new trailer, and sadly, the response so far isn’t looking too promising, with many criticizing the low-budget look and the questionable dialogue. Still, 30 seconds isn’t a lot to base to a judgment on, and anything as no-frills in its demonic action as this movie looks to be is bound to find some kind of audience.

First Photos and Synopsis For Universal's Upcoming Doom: Annihilation Movie
Last year it was announced that Universal Pictures was developing a new film adaptation of Doom. The movie is called Doom: Annihilation and it is going to be a direct Home Entertainment release. First Look at Doom: Annihilation Threatens Hell on Earth
This Fall, Universal's straight-to-video arm Universal 1440 Entertainment has an all-new Doom movie headed our way. And today we have word that the film has been officially titled Doom: Annihilation. Not only that, but we have three first-look stills for you guys to check out. You can give them a look-see below. Another bit of info to keep in mind when it comes to Doom: Annihilation is that the movie is not - I repeat not - a direct sequel to the 2005 version like we were led to believe. But that's all good as that version was pretty much a waste of movie-making magic. The part that goes first-person-shooter was pretty cool though. Anyhow, no, this new movie isn't a sequel to that Doom movie which starred Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike, and Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson.

Moving on, the last bit of news we heard on this new Doom...

Tom Berenger Talks 'Sniper: Legacy' | Exclusive
Tom Berenger
21 years after Tom Berenger first played U.S. Marine marksman Thomas Beckett in the 1993 action-thriller Sniper, Beckett's legacy lives on in Sony Pictures' Sniper: Legacy. After the original film hit theaters in 1993, Tom Berenger returned as Beckett in two straight-to-video sequels, but in 2011, the franchise was revived with Sniper: Reloaded, which starred Chad Michael Collins as Thomas' son Brandon Beckett. This estranged father-son duo come face-to-face in Sniper: Legacy, available on DVD September 30, as they must work together to take out a rogue shooter who has been taking out high-ranking military leaders.

I recently had the chance to speak with Tom Berenger over the phone, where he offered a sneak peek into the production process, explaining how the original script's ending may have ended this franchise before it even started, the possibility of a new Major League movie, and much more. Take a look at what he had to say below.

Kingdom Complete Series DVD Review
For ease of explanation, if you happen to be a fan of Doc Martin, Kingdom is a show you’re almost guaranteed to enjoy. It doesn’t have the snarkiness (Stephen Fry‘s Peter Kingdom is the most jovial fellow you’re going to run into) but there are a lot of similarities. Most obvious, before you know anything, is the inclusion of a wildly popular British comedian in a role that leans toward drama. Both shows also take place in small towns, and both main characters are professionals occupied mostly by the curious antics of the local eccentrics.

Fry plays a solicitor, which opens more doors, and he has an assistant, Lyle (Karl Davies), whose youthful ambition and spunky disposition are as much a hinderance as a virtue. Where Doc Martin incorporates a mildly crazy populace (like the chemist with the permanent neckbrace), Kingdom not only brings them from the outside,...
