- Over a million Jews from the former USSR live in Israel, most of them from Russia. Many of them have dual citizenship. This was clearly visible during the Russian presidential elections, when hundreds of thousands of people in Israel chose the Kremlin's host. In the suburbs of Haifa or Tel Aviv, you can now meet Russians more often than native Israelis. Some of them do not speak Hebrew at all. They do not have to, because they can communicate in Russian almost everywhere - from airport staff, through shops, to government offices. Since 2008, visa-free travel has been in force between Russia and Israel, which has strengthened this situation even more. On the Moscow-Tel Aviv route alone, there are at least 60 flights a week. Russians and Jews from the former USSR have their own political party in Israel, their own media, their own heroes and artists, shops selling Russian food, and enormous influence. It would not be an exaggeration to say that they have created a veritable state within a state, which is most clearly visible on some streets of Tel Aviv or Haifa. Almost all Israeli political parties must take their voices into account and seek their favor. Not to mention the fact that many of the highest state officials, such as the speaker of the Knesset, Yuli Edelstein, come from the Soviet Union. The vast Russian diaspora has a great influence on shaping the image of Poland in Israel. Therefore, taking a closer look at it is important. The aim of the film will be to show the Russian diaspora in Israel from the inside. What is its specificity? How has it changed the face of the Holy Land? In what areas does it have the greatest influence?
- The film tells the story of a fascinating man - opposition activist in communist Poland - Arkadiusz Rybicki. Rybicki having only 17 years old at the time of December 1970's strikes in Poland urged the workers to fight for independence. He died in a plane crash near Smolensk on 10 April 2010. Unusual is that 40 years earlier on the wall of the Gdansk shipyard he wrote "Do not forget Katyn."
