The Greek pirate who turned businessman, Ioannis Varvakis, made his fortune selling caviar in Russia and all over the world. Varvakis strives all his life for freedom for himself and then for his country.

Petr, a recently discharged officer, arrives in a tiny mining town in the remote Siberian taiga to hunt for gold. When he finds it, the other prospectors cannot forgive his luck.

Despite strong feelings, sometimes it seems that they do not have a common future. Can they change themselves and become happy?

Teacher Olga Tikhonova comes to the Rogozhin family's home to interview for the position of nanny-educator of Katya, the granddaughter of the head of the family, Timofey Rogozhin. The girl is very upset about her parents divorce and believes that they made a big mistake and still love each other. With each passing day, Olga understands more and more clearly that her ward is right.

But Kirill does not back down and is ready to do anything to get Sonya back. The rivalry of the brothers, as well as the dislike of their mother Lydiya Semyonovna, who connects all her connections so that Sonya disappears forever from the lives of her sons, lead to the fact that the lovers are separated for twenty long years.

In 1919 a White Army train carrying the bulk of Czar Nicolas' gold reserves arrives empty at Siberia's Ikutsk station. Decades later the grandson of a White Army officer inherits a map to the treasure.

A seaside town in one of the Balkan countries. Our days. Journalist Sergei Sotnikov comes on a business trip to interview a Russian professor of geophysics working there under a contract awarded with an international prize.

The plot of the film is based on the story of the boy Romka Begunkov with a difficult character, who lacks faith in people, love and friendship. Only one true friend - a small dog named Plut, lives with Roma in the foster family of the Ryakhins. The unbearably difficult and sometimes very cruel life in this house forces Roma to go to the extreme, to run away, saving his life and the life of the faithful dog Plut. Having escaped from the "home", Roma accidentally ends up in a military unit, in the midst of military exercises. Army everyday life and a strict daily routine turned out to be a difficult test for Romka. Acquaintance, and subsequently friendship with the daughter of the regiment commander, Sveta, awakens in the boy, feelings unfamiliar to him.

An intelligent middle-aged couple (lecturer Varzumov and philologist Lera) live in a one-room apartment in a provincial town. Their routine existence is boring and monotonous. Not a trace is left of their once tender relationship. Their cheerless life is overturned by an extraordinary event when their cramped flat is occupied by a group of special service policemen who are waiting for the terrorist from the flat opposite. Only then the main characters finally understand: things are never so bad that they can't get any worse!
