A prostitute gets pregnant by a wealthy businessman. Identical twins are born: one is raised by his father and the other by the mother.

This movie is basically a vehicle for recycling footage from the eccentric pantheon of Brazil's premier horror filmmaker Jose Mojica Marins, whose own persona often melds with that of his popular alter-ego "Coffin Joe". Clips are culled from the trademark surreal nightmare sequences favored by Marins in such films as Esta Noite Encarnarei No Teu Cadaver (Tonight I'll Be Incarnated in Your Corpse), Ritual dos Sadicos (Ritual of the Maniacs) and Exorcismo Negro (Black Exorcism). These grotesque, hallucinatory set pieces are depicted as the nightmares plaguing psychologist Dr. Hamilton, who is haunted by the character of Coffin Joe. In an effort to stop the dreams, Hamilton seeks the aid of Joe's creator (Marins, as himself), who tries to convince him that Joe is not an actual demon but a flamboyant character he intends to lampoon in his latest film.

A prominent millionaire gets a woman drunk and rapes her, biting off her nipple in the process. Because of his influence and powerful lawyer, though, he is able to beat the rap, claiming the woman was trying to extort money from him. He continues his life of debauchery, using women and flaunting his power until he meets a new woman, who won't let him have his way with her, but wants to be his friend. Falling madly in love with her, he cleans up his act and devotes his attentions to her, not realizing that she has a hidden agenda.

In 1947, the peasant Jones and his four year-old son Julinho are executed by Jarbas and the other five brothers of his wife Martha that do not accept the marriage of their sister with a lower-class man. However, Júlio survives and is raised by his uncle José that trains him in shooting to revenge the death of his father. Thirty years later, Júlio and José seek out Jarbas and his family, and they discover that the brothers own night-clubs and brothels. Further, they are near bankruptcy and need to sell one farm to raise a large amount cash and quit their debts. The brothers send a carrier to bring the wallet of cash cuffed to his wrist in an interstate bus. However, Júlio uses chloroform to dope the emissary during the night and replaces the wallet by another with paper, stealing the money. When the criminals discover that they have been lured and robbed, they kidnap the seventeen out of the eighteen passengers of the bus and bring them to the basement of their farm to be tortured to disclose where their money is. Meanwhile, José's daughter Marisa, who is the lover of Júlio, joins them to help José and Júlio to revenge and rescue the innocent passengers from the dangerous gang.

On Christmas Eve, Mauro, a reporter, has 24 hours to find a headine.
