Charlie agrees, but soon discovers that things won't be quite as easy as he thought.

On the verge of accomplishing her goal, Adelaide realizes Nettie's devotion to her husband and repents, informing the girl that Mark's former wife is dead.

Charlie and his partner are to deliver a piano to 666 Prospect St. and repossess one from 999 Prospect St. They confuse the addresses. The difficulties of delivering the piano by mule cart, and most of the specific gags, appeared later in Laurel and Hardy's "The Music Box".

Richard De La Croix has a brother, Andreas, who has been driven insane by a notorious vamp and socialite named Sappho. A man-about-town named Teddy takes Richard to the Odeon to meet her, but when Sappho actually meets Richard, he is unaware that she is the woman who drove Andreas insane.

M. Martinet has two daughters Floflo and Lulu, and a passion: boxing. He hires a new boxer named Jim Bougne, who has just arrived from the USA to give lessons to his daughters. He also happens to expect the girls to marry a boxer. When he surprises Lulu with her sweetheart Maurice, who hates boxing, Lulu pretends he is actually Jim Bougne. And when the actual Jim comes along, she locks him up in a closet. Martinet, suspicious, warns Maurice that he will stick with him until the evening when Jim Bougne is supposed to fight with Professor Orino and Marcel Dantesse. Maurice will fight bravely to win the fight and his girl.

A young woman goes to visit friends but mistakenly rings at the wrong address. She is greeted and taken in out of the storm by a handsome young man to whom she is immediately attracted. What she does not know, however, is that this young man has been fleeced by her father and has sworn vengeance against him.

James, the supervisor of an agricultural colony, is in love with Hélène, who is unfortunately meant for another. At Hélène's engagement party, James has an argument with her fiancé. When the latter gets mysteriously killed, James is arrested and condemned to twenty years of hard labor. Hélène is convinced James is innocent but she falls under the control of a gold digger who has set up a dummy company with the money stolen from James. The swindler is finally arrested and Hélène and James are reunited.
