Set in 1931, Sugar Cane Alley paints a rich impasto of native life under French colonial rules, filtered through the coming-of-age of a bright, sweetly opportunistic boy.

One night, in the middle of summer. Serge does not sleep, leaning on his window. He looks at the Paris sky. Fabrice, a little boy, hangs on the roofs of buildings. Fabrice is not alone, they are four boys to improvise young burglars. Balthazar at the age of Fabrice. Nicolas and Jeannot are between childhood and adolescence. There is a bard, the "Blue Night", held by Camille and Anita. Nicolas and Jeannot love them without telling them, and it is to them that they return the spoils of their burglary. The fate of these seven characters will be knotted dramatically.

A woman is indoors, naked. She mulls over the bones of a finished relationship trying to find some pleasure or happiness in her life but only feeling the pain and loss from the relationship.

Frankfurt, Germany. A young French woman coming to work, Edith, discovers the city. Unbeknownst to him, an American photographer in line, and for a few dollars, delivers his photos to a shady sponsor.
