After the sudden death of Antoni's beloved grandfather, a forester who was shot in mysterious circumstances, Katarzyna Ruszczyc's family moves to the forester's lodge. Katarzyna, together with her father's house, takes over family secrets from the past. He is faced with the dilemma of whether to cultivate secrets or, on the contrary, to undertake the clarification of unresolved matters.

A holiday journey leads the 22-year-old poet to an idyllic manor near Nowogródek. Tomasz Zan, Adam's friend from the Filomats association, is often here, unhappily in love with Maryla, the owner's daughter. Marilla remains impervious to Zan's advances, but quickly takes notice of the new arrival. Adam reciprocates the interest but tries to hold back for the sake of a friend. The feeling between the young people grows every moment. When Zan is forced to leave, it seems that the obstacles standing in the way of fulfilled love have been overcome, and the happy poet's notebook is filled with more poems.

"Archivist" follows Henryk Mikos, an archives employee with exceptional memory, as he teams up with ambitious policewoman Zuza to investigate unsolved criminal cases from the past using his unique abilities.

The background of the story presented in the film are the events that took place on May 3, 1982 in the streets of Warsaw, Poland. On that day, the militia and ZOMO brutally pacified the largest demonstration since the introduction of martial law.

Unknown photos obtained from European film archives make us aware of the enormity of the war struggles that Poland had to undertake when it had just emerged from oblivion. The authors also managed to show the opinion of the world, which at the beginning was not at all favorable to Poles. A favorable opinion, sometimes even an enthusiastic one, appeared only after the victorious offensive of Marshal Józef Pilsudski from the Wieprz River. The military effort, ended with the Peace of Riga, allowed Poles to establish a new border in the East until 1939.
