Shankar is a mechanic who leads a happy life with his wife Malathi and his sister's daughters. Malathi gives birth to a boy named Prasad who is deaf and dumb. Shankar doesn't love his son because he is physically disabled.

Krishna is a small-town boy who falls in love with Rukmini, the heiress of a big estate. Rukmini, a Sonu Nigam fan, wants to marry someone who charms her with his singing. Krishna goes to Bengaluru to learn music, where Meera helps him.
