How can a Host be so annoying? My kids love figuring out if it's cake or not. And I think the show is super well thought out. It's a competition and it's fun to watch, but seriously, I cringe every time this host opens his mouth!!! He thinks he is so funny and behaves like a poor man's comedian. It's so sad to watch that. And the participants being to overexcited about everything is taking 5 stars away from an otherwise 10 star show. Seriously. It's just hard to keep watching.

I cannot remember ever finding the cast and host of a cooking show so incredibly unlikeable and unengaging. Which wouldn't be so bad if the introduction were not so unnecessarily drawn out so as to really draw attention to how cringe and annoying the host and contestants are. It's so bad I couldn't finish the first episode, so to be fair maybe it gets better later on, but not for me.

I've never once watched a cooking show before! But this really intrigued me. I've been seeing "is this cake or fake" trend all over the Internet. It's a popular thing right now and it's so cool to see numerous people bring out their creations. And see how they fully made it verses only seeing the finished product! The only thing I didn't like was the new twist. That they said they added this season. Because for me it's only fair for the person that won in the first place instead of going back and then adding someone that they beat already. But such a fun show! Wish it wasn't so short, loved it! Everyone seems so friendly and the guests judges are so fun to have! And the host does a good job with making it enjoyable.

Interesting concept, however they work so hard to make it so the judges and the viewers can't get a good look at the cakes and the decoys.

The judges are 25-30 feet away from the cakes and the lighting is terrible on the cakes. They purposely create shadows and bright spots to make them more difficult to see.

The at home viewers don't get much of a better look. They flash the images for half a second, spin the items and pull back to distant shots. All with terrible lighting.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes they make very convincing cakes but many times when they finally do a closeup as he cuts their cake it is obvious that their finished product had a lot of problems. And acting like the not so well done examples are amazing is a disservice to the competitors that make convincing ones.
