Not bad, but the first episode seemed a little all over the place. I think they could have thought up a better format for the first episode, as it comes across quite disjointed.
Still, I'm hoping that as the season progresses, the strangely fragmented format will mend itself and become a bit more fluid.
I loved seeing all the Harry Potter-themed creations coming to life - some of them were really exceptional.
Oliver and James were a great choice for hosts, they slot into the vibe really well.
I'm going to stick with it as I've got a feeling that, now the introductions are out of the way, it will find its feet. We'll have to wait and see.

I am enjoying all of the bakers and their creations. I can't imagine rating these bakers and eliminating any of them because their creations are phenomenal. If I were the judges, I'd be sweating. I can't imagine choosing who will go home because they're all so good. It must come down to the smallest details and tastes of their food.
Having said all that, I have to take exception to Warwick Davis being a judge. It's clear that his taste pallet is severely small. He has no business being a judge when he has no appreciation for a variety of foods. I was shocked at how rude he was to the bakers when they told him what flavor combinations were in their tastings.
It was bad enough that he offended the bakers. This is a show to entertain and his attitude towards the food left a bad taste in my mouth.
I can say now that I have no interest in seeing Warwick Davis in a film again or as a judge again. He was that annoying as a judge.

I thoroughly enjoyed this first episode. I didn't find it chaotic at all. I understood why the teams were introduced as they were. Beautifully representative works and I loved hearing everyone stories about their love and connection to the films. So great having the "Weasley Twins" as the hosts and Carla and Jozef as the judges. I thought the humor was just right - not corny or excessive. It was also great to see how laser-focused everyone was but also how supportive they were of one another. The tickets to get onto the train were an exciting element, as well. Can't wait for the rest of this season!
How can you INVITE Evanna Lynch to be a guest JUDGE and then not give her anything to eat?? Either invite someone else, or be a decent chef and do a vegan tasting element.
Otherwise really good entertainment, I just wish the hosts were more involved, since they are the reason people started watching in the first place.

The only two critiques I have are for season two:
Hated.. yes hated how they brought back the winners of season one to actually compete.. yhat was unfair to the new bakers who were equally vying for their chance at the title.. until the old winners were introduced to come in and potentially steal the win- when the season two contestants had worked hard and done their best fairly until that point... Like, what was the point? It was unnecessary and nobody needed that.
The second critique was that due to being paired up- some amazing bakers were sent home, merely because their partners were not on the same level of them.. that really sucked...
