    AIMING Lab. The AIMING Lab is led by Dr. Huaxiu Yao at UNC-Chapel Hill. AIMING stands for Adaptive Intelligence through Alignment, Interaction and Learning. We aim to develop adaptive AI agents with strong generalization and adaptation capabilities, achieved through precise alignment, efficient interaction, and continuous learning.

    Prospective Ph.D./MS Students (Fall 2026)

    I am actively seeking highly motivated 3 Ph.D. students. During this hiring cycle, I am especially interested in seeking students with experience in AI Agents and Robot Learning/Embodied AI.

    Expectations

    1. Strong vibe coding skills

    2. Strong experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude)

    3. At least one first/co-first author publication or submission in ML (ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR), CV (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV), NLP (ACL, EMNLP, NAACL), or Robotics (CoRL, RSS, ICRA, IROS) conferences (optional if a candidate is exceptionally strong in vibe coding).
