Snapshot

Tracking Dinos

If tracking holds, Universal’s Jurassic World Rebirth should open anywhere from $120 million to $125 million over a five-day holiday corridor. The pic opens on July 2, a Wednesday. Universal and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin, home of the multi-billion dollar franchise, are trying to manage expectations by stressing that the pic could come in on the lower end of tracking, and even in the $90 million to $100 million range. ↑ Three weeks ago, Ballerina was tracking to open to $35 million or more. Projections were lowered to $30 million-plus heading into the weekend. The good news: Ballerina nabbed an A- CinemaScore and strong audience scores, both on Rotten Tomatoes (94 percent) and PostTrak, so it could regain its step and have long legs.
