20 Years of Employment – More Tour Dates Added

Kaiser Chiefs announced even more tour dates for February 2026. They’re calling it the “More Employment” tour because apparently one lap of honour wasn’t enough.

This is all to celebrate Employment turning 20 last year. The album came out in March 2005 so they’ve been milking this anniversary all through 2025 with festivals and special shows. Fair play though, it was a massive debut album – went 7x platinum and had I Predict A Riot, Oh My God, and Everyday I Love You Less and Less on it.

The 2026 tour kicks off February 13th in Bradford and goes through most of the month. They’re hitting Manchester, Glasgow, London (Eventim Apollo), Hull, Norwich, and loads more. Tickets went on sale August 22nd.

Ricky Wilson said something about buying a new blazer and wanting to get his money’s worth out of it. Classic Ricky.

Summer Festival Run Going Well

Band’s been doing the festival circuit this summer and it’s been going off apparently. They played Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage in June which is always a big deal, plus they did a massive hometown show at Temple Newsam Park in Leeds.

Also hit up Mad Cool Festival in Madrid and a bunch of UK festivals. The setlists have been heavy on Employment tracks since it’s the 20th anniversary, but they’re mixing in newer stuff too.

They’re doing these shows as part of the Employment anniversary thing. Released a special “China Anniversary” edition of the album back in July with loads of bonus tracks and demos. Called it that because apparently china is what you’re supposed to give for 20 years. Who knew.

More festival dates coming up through August before they head to Australia in November.

Kaiser Chiefs Released Their Eighth Album

The band’s new album “Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth Album” came out on March 1st. Bit of a self-aware title that one.

It’s produced by Amir Amor from Rudimental and has got Nile Rodgers on one of the tracks – “Feeling Alright” which they worked on together. There’s also a song with Hak Baker called “Job Centre Shuffle”.

Only 10 tracks but it’s decent. Some people are saying it’s more funky than their usual stuff, which makes sense with Nile Rodgers involved. The singles “How 2 Dance” and “Jealousy” have been doing alright.

Not their best album if we’re honest but it’s solid. Got into the UK top 10 when it came out which isn’t bad for a band’s eighth record.
