As founding Executive Director, Gabriele Columbro has played a pivotal role in transforming the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS) from its nascent stages into a leading force in the financial services sector, fostering significant growth and innovation through open source collaboration. Under his leadership, FINOS, now part of the Linux Foundation, has expanded to over 100 members, including major financial institutions and technology firms and became the host of open source projects now critical to the financial services ecosystem. Columbro has also been instrumental in establishing and promoting key industry events such as the Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF), that have become central hubs for open source in finance bringing together over 2000 people every year.
Besides OSFF, Columbro is also a frequent keynote speaker at major events like Open Source Summit, Money 2020, Finovate, and KubeCon, where he advocates on the transformative impact of open source technology in various sectors, first and foremost financial services.
Thanks to his accomplishments with FINOS, Columbro was tapped to take on a significant role as the General Manager of Linux Foundation Europe, aimed at enhancing the presence and impact of open source across Europe. This role involves fostering regional open collaborations and supporting the success leveraging the global platform of the Linux Foundation, emphasizing the critical commercial, geopolitical and societal value of open source in the AI era and beyond.
His extensive experience in building developer ecosystems and driving innovation is not just limited to non-profits but extends to commercial open source ventures and direct exposure Fortune 500 companies, highlighted by his previous roles at Alfresco.
Beyond his professional achievements, as a special needs parent, Columbro advocates for disability rights and inclusion. He is an avid reggae music connoisseur, enjoys cooking strictly Italian food, and it's a vocal Napoli soccer fan, a sport he enjoys also playing in his personal time. Columbro holds a Master's in Computer Engineering at Università of Roma Tre in Italy.
Aaron (Grizz) Griswold has a performing arts background, coupled with an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia, and experience running technology companies and conferences.
Before FINOS, Aaron managed web design and development companies, and helped build multiple tech conferences like All Things Open (in the open source space), and ConvergeSE (in the design and developer space). He owned multiple companies in various industries, been a marketing manager for others, and was in the US Army as an infantry paratrooper at the 82nd Airborne Division.
Rob Moffat is a seasoned IT professional living in the UK. Over the last twenty years, he has worked at many of the top-tier investment banks in London on regulatory and transformation IT projects.
Rob is a staunch advocate of Open Source and works on many open source projects, including the FINOS "Spring Bot" project which he built and contributed whilst working at Deutsche Bank.
Rob holds a Computer Science degree and an MBA and is the author of "Risk-First Software Development"
Win Morgan has a performing arts background growing up in the ballet world, coupled with an International MBA in Marketing & Data Analytics from the Darla Moore School of Business and a JD from the University of South Carolina.
Before FINOS, Win worked in law offices as a law clerk and case coordinator. During his MBA studies he fell in love with the strategy, persuasion and data analytics of marketing and created and analyzed surveys for Fortune 500 companies. He continues to use critical thinking skills and a comfort with rapid-fire questioning developed through the Socratic method of his law school studies.
As Chief Operating Officer, Jane oversees FINOS Strategic initiatives and projects, Member & Community Success activities, and Corporate Operations. She works closely with the FINOS team and FINOS community to promote adoption and curation of business-relevant open source projects across Financial Services. Before joining FINOS, Jane was Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where she was the Global Head of Reference Data Technology Services. In this role, Jane successfully delivered several enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and re-shaped the global operating model of the technology organization. Prior to Credit Suisse, Jane worked in top-tier financial institutions, delivering technology solutions for Trading, Risk Management, and Operations business units. Jane earned her MS in Computer Science at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts at Barnard College.
Rimma is a business leader specializing in ecosystem development, fundraising and digital responsibility. She thrives on collaborating with industry stakeholders on purpose-led initiatives which solve problems and leverage human-centric innovation to advance trustworthy technology solutions that deliver business value and social impact.
Previously, Rimma served as Executive Director at Datum Future – a cross-sector ‘do-tank’ advancing a vibrant, people-centered Data Economy; Partnership Development Lead for Data Institutions at the Open Data Institute (ODI) and Head of Partnerships at the Internet Commission.
As the former CEO and Co-Founder of Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF), Rimma built the organisation from the ground up and led its rapid expansion across the diverse markets of Africa, Asia, EMEA and the Americas, establishing it as the influential global and cross-sector platform. Throughout 17 years of leading MEF, she collaborated with industry leaders to deliver key partnerships, initiatives and tools to accelerate a trusted and sustainable mobile ecosystem.
In 2018, Rimma won the Trust Leader of the Year at the Know Identity Awards. She was an early supporter of Women Leading in AI and co-founder of mBolden’s UK chapter which championed women in mobile.
Rimma holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BSc in Industrial Relations from Cornell University.
Karl Moll has been a technical solutions consultant and open source advocate for 10 years. He specializes in digital modernization, API usage, technical integrations, and solutions design with a focus on developer experience & community. He has been involved in digital transformation projects in government agencies, financial institutions, and tech companies of all sizes. He has recently been an active participant in several open source projects in sustainable consulting, decentralized identity, collaborative ownership of creative & technical assets, online governance, and digital wallets.
Karl's introduction to FINOS started while working at Symphony between 2017 and 2021, where he interacted with many FINOS members as a API Support Engineer, Platform Solutions Engineer, and Developer Community Advocate. During this time, he organized several hackathons, was the recorded voice of the Symphony Developer Training Program certification, briefly maintained the Python SDK, and presented several conference talks & group technical trainings.
Karl first became interested in the wider world of computing in 2009 as a freshman at Haverford College, where he closely followed the emergence of the Arab Spring while taking Arabic, Computer Science, and Political Science classes. The experience led him to completely change his academic roadmap to fully focus on understanding how online social networks utilize social media & communications technology to collaborate. He ended up shifting his major to Computer Science, where he wrote his thesis on algorithms for detecting communities in multi-dimensional social networks. This interdisciplinary lens led to a professional focus on APIs as the mechanism for cross-system communication & mission critical workflows, utilizing communications technology for large group interactions & organization, and fostering ecosystems & developer communities to promote technical collaborations which provide "common solutions for common problems".
In his free time, Karl is passionate about classical ballet, techno & house music, Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), craft beer, mental health advocacy, rugby, and event organizing.
Niamh is a marketing and communications professional with over a decade of experience spanning fintech, corporate communications, and public relations. She began her career in consumer PR, working with global brands, before moving into roles at leading financial technology companies, including Broadridge and Symphony Communication Services.
Since joining FINOS in 2021, Niamh has supported the foundation’s growth through content development, event marketing, and member engagement. In her current role as Senior Manager, Communications & Ecosystem Development, she works at the intersection of corporate communications and business development - driving outreach to prospective members and contributing to campaigns that highlight the strategic value of FINOS and open source in financial services.
Originally from Belfast, Niamh brings a global perspective shaped by time living and working in London, New York, Australia, and Asia. She holds a BA in Media, Culture & Communication and a Postgraduate Certificate in International Business.
Tosha has spent more than 25 years in financial services and technology working with banks, software companies and start-ups in a wide variety of roles. Tosha currently works for the Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS), on a number of initiatives that showcase the work of the Foundation and the value of open source for the financial services industry. She previously held the roles of COO and Director of Member Success. Before joining FINOS, Tosha co-founded eCo Financial Technology to give banks a new way to source and evaluate software. Prior to that, Tosha spent 13 years at Credit Suisse in London and New York where she held a range of technology roles in both Equities and FICC before becoming COO for eFX and then FID eCommerce. Tosha started her career in a Silicon Valley financial technology start-up after earning BAs in Psychology and Mass Communications from the University of California, Berkeley.
As Field CTO based out of New York, Olivier acts as a trusted technical advisor for FINOS’ open source projects. In this role, he supports project maintainers in driving contributions, advancing project evolution, and promoting initiatives at developer-focused and industry-centric events.
Prior to FINOS, Olivier led Developer Relations at Orkes, fostering engagement within the Orkes Conductor developer community and regularly speaking at conferences such as APIDays and QCon.
Before joining Orkes, Olivier was Director of Developer Ecosystem at Symphony, where he built Symphony’s open source strategy and managed its related developer tooling contributions to FINOS such as BDKs.
Earlier in his career, Olivier created and led engineering for two developer centric platforms until their respective acquisitions. He is also the co-author of a patented method of creating customizable applications.
Alexandra is a consummate entrepreneur spending the last 15+ years diving into the startup world. Her open source journey began with joining the Symphony Software Foundation (SSF) shortly after its inception in 2016. She worked closely with the Executive Director and built the foundation’s infrastructure by taking point in Finance, HR, Marketing, Facilities and Governing Board management.
When SSF was rebranded in 2018 she was promoted to Chief of Staff of the newly launched Fintech Open Source Foundation (FINOS). FINOS became the trusted arena for the global financial services industry to innovate faster through the model of open source. As the foundation gained momentum, her role expanded to build a much needed Member Success infrastructure.
With FINOS joining the Linux Foundation umbrella, Alexandra’s passion for merging cultures, embracing change, and streamlining systems came into play. Most recently, Alexandra serves as Chief of Staff for both FINOS and the newly launched Linux Foundation Europe, a new entity created to foster regional open collaborations in the European continent and expand the global platform of the Linux Foundation.
Alexandra brings vast operational experience to startups in varying industries such as technology, publishing, training & development, health & fitness, and cryptocurrency. Her specialized background in executive coaching and training, combined with operations and infrastructure, positively influences collaboration and stronger performance at all levels of the start-up organization. She’s an avid gardener, cyclist and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Eteri Dvalishvili is a Project Manager based out of Brooklyn, New York. In her position at FINOS she works to help the open-source community grow and deliver solutions for the financial services industry.
Prior to joining FINOS she managed nine New York based Neurology offices and brings extensive knowledge on operational and technical leadership as well as problem solving.
