- Synopsis
- TV Series (2003-2008). 5 Seasons. 106 Episodes. From Gary Scott Thompson -- the writer of the hit film “The Fast and the Furious” -- comes “Las Vegas,” now entering its third season. This fast-paced, sexy drama follows the elite Las Vegas surveillance team charged with maintaining the security of one of “Sin City’s” largest resorts and casinos. In the explosive season-season finale, the Montecito Resort and Casino was blown up in an effort to make room for a new Montecito and a new owner.
Oscar and Golden Globe Award nominee James Caan (“The Godfather,” “Misery”) stars as Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for the Montecito Resort & Casino. With his protégé, Danny McCoy (Josh Duhamel, “All My Children”) a former U.S. Marine and Las Vegas native, they deal with card-counting cheaters, costly streaks of random luck and rival casinos stealing their big-money players. Rounding out this cast of high rollers is Ed’s daughter, Delinda (Molly Sims, MTV’s “Starsky and Hutch”), Mary Connell (Nikki Cox, “Nikki”), Mike Cannon (James Lesure, “For Your Love”) and Samantha “Sam” Jane (Vanessa Marcil, “Beverly Hills, 90210”). Lara Flynn Boyle (“The Practice,” “Men in Black II”) will join the cast this season as the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito Casino who immediately causes a commotion when the series returns this Fall.
Thompson also serves as executive producer along with Gardner Stern (NBC’s “Law & Order,” “NYPD Blue”), Justin Falvey (“Rescue Me”) and Darryl Frank (“Rescue Me”) for this series from NBC Studios and DreamWorks Television.-

- Critics' reviews
-
-
"The multiplicity of story lines and characters turns Las Vegas into a complex undertaking, but Caan, Duhamel and their excellent castmates make it work, brilliantly"
-
"One of the season's surprisingly better bets"
-
"Like casino chips sprinkled over a roulette table, the assets of this NBC show aren't being used very wisely, and are no guarantee of success."
-
"It doesn't always feel realistic, but it works on its own terms: What happens in Las Vegas stays in 'Las Vegas'"
-
"While there's nothing particularly compelling or memorable about Las Vegas, it is an undeniably fun action romp with an appealing cast"
-
"Marred by clumsy dialogue, improbable events and characters so cliched as to be inhuman."
