- Synopsis
- TV series (1998-2004). 6 seasons. 94 episodes. Iconic series of the turn of the century, "Sex in the City" followed the amorous and sexual adventures of four single and independent New Yorkers: the columnist Carrie Bradshaw (Parker) -who narrated the stories- and her three best friends: the sensible lawyer Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), the idealistic posh Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and the promiscuous and uninhibited Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). The four thirtysomething women enjoyed the busy life of Manhattan combining their jobs with dates with men, meetings of complicity between them in fashionable restaurants, and parties in the best nightclubs in New York. Initially, the series was based on a compilation of articles by Candace Bushnell ("Sex and the City") published in the "New York Observer". It won 7 Emmy Awards and 8 Golden Globes.

"Enough to make you re-evaluate the virtues of celibacy...Here's a thought: Perhaps these whiners can't find great guys because they're not so great themselves."
