Nicolas Worms's music is a place where contradictory spacetimes move around
on the surface as well as in depth, their dissonance forming both wound and structure.
Engrossed in the themes of absence and the interior voyage, influenced by psychedelia and fascinated by music’s narrative power, he has developed the concept of
‘music-fiction’ to describe his works, such as the spectacle l’Île Fantôme (The Phantom Island), the series Flot (Flow), his solo piano piece l’Enquête (The Inquiry), and the project Numin, in collaboration with the artist Eden Tinto Collins.
Since training at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM), Nicolas has received a stream of commissions from major arts centres including the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Paris Opera and l’Opéra du Rhin, and his music has been widely performed by many orchestras, ensembles and soloists. He works closely with the pop and rock scene, with Moonsters, UTO, Mocke, Benjamin Clementine, Yael Naim and others.
