i enjoyed the writing style and how the author describes the nightmare inside elspeth’s mind - it’s really poetic and unique. i think there are some interesting characters that i want to learn more about and see more fleshed out, but i just got bits and pieces so far and would’ve liked more.

i also felt like not much happened for a good chunk of the book and it got more exciting towards the very end. the romance feels very basic and surface level to me so far. i think there’s a lot of potential but a decent amount of the book was just fine/lukewarm to me. i also got a bit annoyed with elspeth sometimes and she can feel useless or like she’s making dumb decisions
