** spoiler alert ** Sorry, nothing but spoilers here.
I really enjoyed the first 100 pages or so. Good setup, left a cult, wasn't finding luck outside it, went back for a wedding of her best friend and former boyfriend. Mom was a horror actress. Dad wasn't around but she always thought fondly of him. It really seemed like a good story. She caught me off guard with it being a satanic cult because they felt very jesusy. I liked that twist but a satanic cult worried about swearing? They were very straight laced and it seemed like the only thing the author knew about satanic religions was pentagrams. The rest all felt off. Then the real twist, her dad is actually Satan, she's actually the devil's daughter with powers.... Okay, so let's explore that.. nope, let's just sacrifice her and she can't do anything, dies, then comes back and can just suck everyone into hell and close the door and the ruler of hell can't stop her but these people also don't like hell or want to go there despite believing in the ruler of it, they think everyone else is going there...
I'm sorry, there was just so much that just didn't work once we learned the truth. The cult never really did.
Anyway, go read Horns, by Joe Hill if you want a good story about having the devil's powers.
