wow. I’m so glad I wasn’t born in the 50s. I felt gross just reading about this girl’s life. from patriarchy, to sexism, to belittling, to sexual assault, to so so much more, there was and still is so much trauma in being a female. there is so much constraint, powerlessness, and judgement in being a women and it’s fucking disgusting. very important novel.
