I did hit a little bit of a lull around 60ish% - but still stayed engaged throughout. Settling on 4.25 stars for now. Not perfect, but better than a 4 star read for me.
I'm sorry. I've tried 3 times with the audio and I can't get into it. I won't rate it bc I really didn't make it further than like 25%.

I know this is Disney. I know it's a children's tale. I really thought it would be something I could vibe with, especially bc I have such a love for Tinkerbel, but every time I put on the audio I feel like a kindergarten teacher during movie time.
It's been a while since I've read anything from A.L. Jackson, but this sounds so good! I think it's her first romantasy! It's been a while since I've read anything from A.L. Jackson, but this sounds so good! I think it's her first romantasy! ...more
I've been sitting here for a few days trying to plan how to review this book lol... I'm still really not sure how to without giving everything away.

This is a vast universe that starts in the A Curse So Dark and Lonely series and spins off into this series where we have new characters that we've met along the way, but we also have many of the characters we started off with.
I truly adore this series, and I love Brigid Kemmerer's writing and story telling. I'll come back and edit this review yet again when I think on it more.
But this is a great fantasy series that keeps you entertained and wanting more. Definitely recommend.
Maybe I'll pick this up some other time. I'm not in the mood to drag this book from 2024 to 2025. The writing truly has me struggling.

I can see the comparison to OUABH. Really, I can. Except the author's prose is trying to hard to be fairytale like and whimsy.
If you know me, you know I love a good purple prose. But this is way too wordy and wayyy too many adjectives. It feels misplaced and clunky.
DNF @28%

Twice now, I've seen 'If you loved OUABH, you should read this one' - say less. I think I'm going to have to pick up this wintery and whimsical dark fairytale during my winter vacation. ...more
I can't decide if I want to DNF this or start it over. Idk. It's not holding my attention, putting it on pause at the very least for now. I can't decide if I want to DNF this or start it over. Idk. It's not holding my attention, putting it on pause at the very least for now. ...more

I almost didn't grab this one from Wednesday Books when they reached out - I'm drowning in arcs, BUT Tiffany's enthusiasm and 5 stars had me over her downloading it - can't wait to start it!

Sonya has inherited a mansion in Maine that is haunted with the ghosts of brides who have died in the house on their wedding day. Sonya is trying to break the curse set upon the house in order to free the spirits.
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ First, I want to say that Brittany Pressley - what. Omg she did such an amazing job narrating -she carried much of this book for me!
The story picks up right where the first book left off and I was effortlessly pulled right back into this world. Nora Roberts does an exceptional job at world building and creating such realistic and well-rounded characters!
˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ I did feel like this one moved a little slower in terms of pacing. I was also hoping to get more information regarding the plot, but this installment didn't move along much in terms of the main storyline, so I was a little disappointed with that.
This is a great series to pick up during the autumn months, if you're looking for something spooky but not actually scary with a haunted mansion and ghosts - spirits and magic.
This is a very vague review - Apologies... avoiding spoilers for an ongoing series can be a challenge. ...more
