I'm gonna cheat. Because even though I've read three or four books that folks frequently refer to as Urban Fantasy(American Gods,The Little Country,The Anubis Gates) I'm still not sure I really know what constitutes that genre and what does not.
However Goodreads does provide this List at Listopia:

This ought to at least provide a good jumping off point.
Good luck!
Neil Gaiman would be great for this too.
Storm Front
Another series I love is by F. Paul Wilson...Repairman Jack. F. Paul Wilson
Happy Reading!
Storm Front is the first in the series.
I really love the Nightlife books by Rob Thurman. The main character is a half-human, half-monster currently living in New York City. His monster "family" is hunting him down to use for their own purposes (which involve the end of the world as we know it). I really like the snarky humor and the banter between the brothers. This is the book I push on all my friends to read.

We prefer stories set in contemporary settings. I'm personnally not much on dragons and wizards and such.
Any suggestions?
