On April 23, the Beijing Off-Road press conference themed "Intelligent Transformation, New Journey, the BJ40 Range Extender is Here!" was held at the 2025 Auto Shanghai. Beijing Off-Road released the BJ40 PRO REEV Red Hare edition, with a limited-time offer price of 299,800 RMB, and announced the results of a full fuel and full charge range test, achieving a range of 1,000 kilometers.

The BJ40 REEV official modification kit "Silk Road Iron Cavalry" has been widely popular among users, with sales exceeding a thousand units within just 15 days of its launch. The BJ40 REEV comes with standard safety configurations across all series. The car body is equipped with an embedded metal roll cage that extends directly from the A-pillar through the roof, forming an integrated protective structure. The mid-layer of the car body features a full-length frame with a design that includes two longitudinal and eight transverse beams, made of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel, which is 3-5 times stronger than ordinary steel. This structure acts like a steel skeleton, capable of absorbing immense impact forces during severe collisions. The lower layer is equipped with a basalt armor to effectively protect the chassis from damage caused by large rocks.

The BJ40 EREV is both highly fuel-efficient for city commuting and perfect for weekend outdoor adventures. Within one hour after the press conference, the number of orders surpassed 3,000 units, and within 48 hours, it exceeded 10,000 units. According to the weekly insurance data from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, the BJ40 REEV achieved an 81% market share in the range extender boxy vehicle category last week. It ranked first in the new energy boxy vehicle market and fourth in the overall boxy vehicle market.
