Forging her own path as a first-generation American of Zimbabwe heritage, Rita Mucavele, more widely recognized under her stage name ofCANVAS, encompasses music in her very DNA. Currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, CANVAS still honors her core roots of rhythm and rhyme, applying her culture to significant aspects of modern-day bass music and using her sound as a vehicle for powerful change. Using music as a constant outlet, even her artist moniker holds weight to it, intentionally demonstrating the influential nature of the artist-fan relationship.
