--this should be obvious, but transphobes, homophobes and other bigots aren't welcome here.
Guest kudos aren't currently working on Ad Astra. In lieu of, feel free to just leave a '❤ Kudos' in the comment box! (Or a whole comment, authors love those, too!)
Hi, I'm happy to see you! Come in, pull up a chair; this is definitely one of the best indie communities on the whole damn internet! For some quick tips: If you want to post, please make sure you review the rules (under FAQ above on the About section of the header bar) especially in reference to tagging. If you want to join in the Weekly Challenge or Review Hunt, both of those can be found on our Discord. Plus, you will absolutely laugh your head off at the Trek memes, because Trek memes are fully next tier. And finally, I hope you have a good time here with us and stick around!

Finally, everyone who wanted an invite has gotten one! I've changed the queue numbers to send out daily and to send two invites at a time, so things should move pretty decently. 💜💜💜🌟
So apparently, we got recced on Reddit? Which is both news to me and very cool. So, welcome aboard, new people! Ad Astra's a pretty awesome place, I hope you'll have a look around. We're kinda old school only in the best ways (lots of community, lots of support, some of us have literally married each other over the past fifteen years), so I hope you'll stick around and become a part of it!
If you're interested in the 'amenities' -- which we have a few -- the first best place to get the low-down is on Discord. The link is up under the Community tab above! I know everyone has a ton of social media, and if they have Discord, then a ton of servers, but it's where the Review Hunt and Weekly Challenges are posted, and it's also where all authors/artists (regardless of fandom, tbh) can have their own channel to promote their works, share snippets, you name it. We also have heckin' nice forums we hardly ever use anymore, but which are excellent for writing round robins or doing deeper dives into anything. Maybe you'll be the person to resurrect them, eh?
We also had and may someday again have blogs we offer our people. And who knows what the future will bring? We've kept on this long and we're well-positioned to keep on trucking.
Anyway, I'm glad to see you and I hope you love this place as much as I always have. 💜

There are currently about eighteen people in the queue for invitations. Just so you know, Ad Astra's invitations only go out one per day; this is a big part of how I keep a handle on things. However, there is a way to get your invitation much faster: If you're a member of our Discord server -- the link is on the header bar under the Community tab -- you'll be able to get yours basically instantly. This is because you'll be directly interacting with yours truly and I'll be able to see you're not here to spam, that you have read the posting rules and that you won't be causing trouble.
So, if you're going, "Wait, I have to wait three weeks?!" then there is a much faster method. Just come over to Discord and ask!
If it's not Star Trek or original sci-fi, it does not belong on this site.
