この巻から、あ〜何編といいますか、よくわからないんですが、
グイン、マリウス、イシュトヴァーンの３人は、北の強国ケイロニアへとやってきます。
ここでグインは千竜将軍ダルシウスのもとで一介の傭兵となり、
マリウスは今後の彼の人生を変えることになるイリス（オクタヴィア）と出会い、
イシュトヴァーンはグインとの破局の時を迎えたりと、色々な出来事が起こります。
そして、ケイロニア宮廷では陰謀劇が始まり、それが４、５巻続いていきます。
余談ですが、２０巻目からイラストが変わります。
加藤直之氏から天野喜孝氏にバトンタッチされ、
天野グインはこの後、５６巻まで続くことになります。
