China Miéville lives and works in London. He is three-time winner of the prestigious Arthur C. Clarke Award (Perdido Street Station, Iron Council and The City & The City) and has also won the British Fantasy Award twice (Perdido Street Station and The Scar). The City & The City, an existential thriller, was published in 2009 to dazzling critical acclaim and drew comparison with the works of Kafka and Orwell (The Times) and Philip K. Dick (Guardian).

    Wer Science Fiction und Herausforderungen mag, wer neue Dinge denken möchte und nicht zurückschreckt davor, auch einen Satz zwei mal zu lesen um zu begreifen und sich ein Bild machen zu können von dem was Mr. Miéville uns da erzählt, der ist hier auf ein Juwel gestoßen! Bin noch mitten in diesem Buch, kenne erst Die Stadt und die Stadt (faszinierend), Stadt der Fremden (schwierig aber großartig und lohnend) und Andere Himmel (starke Erzählungen). Miéville erfindet Welten!

    Bisher kannte ich nur die Falter von C. Mieville, viel kann man ja leider nicht von ihm kaufen. Der eiserne Rat war meiner Meinung nach noch besser und skuriler und spannender und.... Man kann das Buch nicht aus der Hand legen, ohne sich auf die nächsten Seiten zu freuen.

    Wer den unglaublich bildgewaltigen Stil von China Mieville mag, wird auch mit diesem Buch Spass haben. Ich habe alle Bücher von ihm gelesen. Dieses kommt nicht an Peridio Street Station ran (wie auch?), aber dennoch mal wieder eine abgedrehte Story und absolut atypische Charaktere. - Für Mieville-Fans eine klare Empfehlung

    Auch hier haben wir es mit einem tollen, besonderen Roman zu tun, der ganz im Stille von China Miéville eine spannende Geschichte mit einem einfallsreichen Plot erzählt. Schöner Zusatz zu Perdido Street Station und den anderen Büchern, die in der selben Welt spielen.
