Several years ago, I spent four hours with a remarkable Asian elephant named Belle and her equally interesting human partner, Roger Henneous. That experience transformed my life and led to the writing of ELEPHANT SPEAK: A Devoted Keeper's Life Among the Herd (Ooligan Press, March 2020).

My work has appeared in several magazines and anthologies including: Wild Musette; Today, Tomorrow, Always; Allegory; Amoskeag; The Journal of the American Geriatrics Society; The Journal of the Elephant Managers Association; ASPCA's Animal Watch; STRIDES (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association); Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Forgiveness; and on the writing podcast The Drunken Odyssey.

I live in Ohio.

This book was a little bit different to the normal Star Trek books, I have over 50 of them, and I was literally on the edge of my seat. Well worth a read. Not giving anything away, read it, go on, you know you want to!

I think this is one of the better Star Trek novels. I feel the main characters are true to who they are on the series. The story is well written, enjoyable and kept me reading.

This is one of my favorite Star Tek novels. Technically it takes place arond the WOK time period, I like to imagine it as taking place during the 'real Star Trek' period.
It's a slowly building story to a crescendo ending. It's also creepy so ha great atmosphere. An abandoned space station, Romulans ang ghostly sightings make for a fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better Than Expected.

I've read many Star Trek TOS novels, and this one is definitely in the top ten. It's very well written (aside from a few minor typos or grammatical errors) and the characters are done well, with good point of views from McCoy, Kirk, and Chekov. I wish they'd had more from Spock's point of view, but his character was good and accurate to the Original Series. It had a very interesting plot, and a good spooky feel that you don't usually get in a Trek book, while still having a satisfying amount of action. I highly recommend it for any TOS fan.

Shell Game was the first Star Trek book I bought with my own money back when it was first released. I read it cover to cover until the pages were worn, until the cover itself began to rip and tear (I took care of my books, but acid from fingers, even the motion of turning the pages is enough to take out these mass market paperbacks).

In the subsequent moves over the years, the book managed to become lost, and so feeling the itch to purchase it again, I chose the digital route this time. All of the story flavor, none of the page tearing.
