    Dark fantasy and horror author Kate Jonez has twice been nominated for the Bram Stoker Award ® and once for the Shirley Jackson.

    She is also the chief editor at Omnium Gatherum a multiple award nominated press dedicated to publishing unique dark fantasy, weird fiction and horror.

    Kate is a student of all things scary and when she isn’t writing she loves to collect objects for her cabinet of curiosities, research obscure and strange historical figures and photograph Southern California where she lives with a very nice man and two little dogs who are also very nice but could behave a little bit better.

    Eric J. Guignard is a writer, editor, and anthologist of dark and speculative fiction, operating from the shadowy outskirts of Los Angeles, where he also runs the small press Dark Moon Books. He’s twice won the Bram Stoker Award (the highest literary award of horror fiction), won the Shirley Jackson Award, and been a finalist for the World Fantasy Award and International Thriller Writers Award.

    He has over 150 stories and non-fiction author credits appearing in publications around the world. As editor, Eric’s published multiple fiction anthologies, including PROFESSOR CHARLATAN BARDOT’S TRAVEL ANTHOLOGY TO THE MOST (FICTIONAL) HAUNTED BUILDINGS IN THE WEIRD, WILD WORLD and A WORLD OF HORROR, each a showcase of international horror short fiction.

    He currently publishes the acclaimed series of author primers created to champion modern masters of the dark and macabre, EXPLORING DARK SHORT FICTION. He is also publisher and acquisitions editor for the renowned +HORROR LIBRARY+ anthology series. Formerly, he was curator of the series, Haunted LIBRARY OF HORROR CLASSICS through SourceBooks with co-editor Leslie S. Klinger.

    His latest books are LAST CASE AT A BAGGAGE AUCTION; DOORWAYS TO THE DEADEYE; and short story collections THAT WHICH GROWS WILD and A GRAVESIDE GALLERY (both through Cemetery Dance). His newest anthology, SCARING AND DARING, is available through HarperCollins.

    Five creepy stories with bad weather as an element, but not necessarily the "scary" part of the story.

    While well-written and fun to read, I didn't give it five stars because one story's ending was very disappointing and non-sensical to me. In another story, I think there was a mix-up in character names, which was confusing. I had to re-read a few paragraphs to make sure it was an error, and not something I missed.

    But as a whole, this is a great anthology.

    This selection of short stories will make you wonder about the weather, and the strange things it can do. All the stories were good and are fast reads. Perfect for a stormy night ( but don't let the lights go out!).
