Customer reviews
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 October 2020I have read a few AE VAN VOGTS - they often have interesting ideas ruined by the rollup unsatisfactory endings this one exceeds all expectations in let down. It is not frightening not interesting and utterly careless . one wonders if he read all four original short stories before sticky taping them into a novel. I feel sorry for the BEAST it deserves a better home.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Beast, by AE Van Vogt
Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseVery well written with unique story line.
Story unfolds with increasing complexity.
I read this story as a child, again as a young
adult and it was better the second time than
the first. Highly recommended for those looking for
something different in SciFi.

4.0 out of 5 stars I don't care what others say - I liked it then and I still like it now!!
One of my favorite books from the Golden Age of sci-fi when I was growing up. Probably wouldn't interest modern readers too much with their nano-second attention spans, though.
