    I have read a few AE VAN VOGTS - they often have interesting ideas ruined by the rollup unsatisfactory endings this one exceeds all expectations in let down. It is not frightening not interesting and utterly careless . one wonders if he read all four original short stories before sticky taping them into a novel. I feel sorry for the BEAST it deserves a better home.
