4.0 out of 5 stars Fine collection of SF tales
Reviewed in the United States on 1 January 2017
It's a collection of stories, so of course the tone varies. Michael Bishop is an extremely talented writer and proves here that he's a more than competent editor as well. It's a pretty fat book, so I'd think most readers would find something to like in it. I won't list my favorites, but I will say that the comic tales often have a surprisingly thoughtful and sometimes dark edge, and the serious ones make you think. Some are a bit dated, but I didn't find one that I thought was out-and-out bad.
